I've always wanted to actually see one of the moles at work in my yard. These guys must be huge; they moved a lot of dirt. Caterpillar could learn a lot from studying them.As they evaded traps, flooding and hunting, I was wondering if they were actually bionic defense department experiments that escaped.In desperation, I bought these Charli mole repellent sticks. Looking at the package, it says that results cannot be expected for at least two weeks. I recognized that code; usually comments like that mean, in modern English, "apply this product, look at it in frustration, forget about it as it's another thing with high promises that doesn't work, and then find that you missed the Amazon return window."But surprisingly, these worked. Now, it may be true that due to my desperation, I over concentrated them. They weren't quite sitting on top of each other, but they were overlapped a lot tighter than the instructions. But THEY WORKED! Immediately. Not one 'dig' happened after I put them in.Unfortunately, this review goes on.They are made of plastic. That made sense as I appreciated the price, and used a crowbar to penetrate the dirt for an easy installation. But, they are not sufficiently strong enough for the errant old man dutifully riding his mower over the lawn exalting in the fact that no more mole holes exist, yet stupidly forgetting about the little soldiers that won the fight.If any of you are mentally lazy enough to drive a lawn tractor over a FEW of these not-free items, you will see the clear plastic top crack.While the remaining heroes are still in the yard, dutifully employed at combating the moles, half are now waiting idly in the garage as I try to contact the company to see if I can buy the cheap plastic top.The remaining fighters are still doing their job, but are now accompanied by the little flags Lowes sells for when water sprinklers are put in. These flags hopefully will stop the wanton damage caused by my mower wheels.And, after hearing about my stupidity in damaging these with my lawnmower, the company took pity and replaced the units. All I wanted was just to see if I could buy the little clear plastic squares on top to recover from the mistake. But, they went all out and shipped free of charge replacement units. Wow.

Since I have installed the snakes I have not seen any snakes in my backyard. 2 of the units are defective and the Seller replaced them quickly upon request.

Product drove off the moles and snakes! Bought two boxes (I have an acre sized yard), and a couple units didn't work. Within a few days SolarCharli had sent me replacements. They were great to work with! 100% recommend. Pro Tip on installation. Here in Missouri we have rocky clay soil. Shovels bounce off. Get a piece of 3/4" galvanized pipe a couple feet long from the hardware store plumbing department. Mark the length of the mole spike on the side with a Sharpie pen. Pound in the pipe with a hammer and pull it out. You will have a perfect sized hole to slide the mole spike into. Only took me minutes to do my whole yard. To make it easier to mow, I used the edge of planters or the base of trees (but still in the sun) to place the spikes wherever possible. Their range and power means they don't have to be in an exact grid. Out of 16 only 3 are where I need to worry about them when I mow.

I used this product to get rid of moles and it has become worse. I've been using for about two months. The moles have built all around them like it is more of an attraction. This was a complete waste of money. I placed them according to instructions.

Construction of item very fragile, figured they wouldn’t last, sent back for refund

I hesitated to buy these sonic solar spikes due to the cost, but our mole problem was so extensive I finally ordered them. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was amazed at how well these work. We were having half a dozen new tunnels and mounds show up every day in our yard, and being elderly with poor balance it was getting dangerous to try to walk through the yard. Once we stuck these spikes in the ground (many weeks ago) we only saw one single mole tunnel afterwards. We normally have a few snakes, too but haven't seen one since we got these amazing solar spikes. They emit a soft beeping sound periodically and the vibration that sends into the ground must be what ran those pesky critters off. You won't go wrong buying this product!

I really like these so far, they seem to be doing their job. I do have an issue with the quality of the items and the ability to contact the manufacturer. When I installed them they all worked. After a week one of them stopped working. I tried to contact the company based on the info enclosed in the packaging, but it kept routing me to Amazon. Amazon was not able to send me one piece as a replacement because they are packaged as a box of eight. Amazon sent a box of eight and told me to take the one I needed and return the rest along with the one defective one. I did this and then not even a week later one more (a different one), stopped working. I again contacted Amazon, but they said they could not issue a second replacement on the same product and that I could just order another set and then take the one I need and return them. This is ridiculous. For one, I would think they should work longer than a couple weeks and two, I shouldn't have to tie up an additional $76.00 of my money to get a defective product replaced. I would love to be able to discuss this with the company, but the customer service info with the order just sends me to Amazon.

We got these because we have an armadillo hanging out. We put these all around our shed where we believed the armadillo was living. Unfortunately my video camera still catches the armadillo around my house. They do work well for mice. All the mice have disappeared.The sound they emit is annoying. And louder than I thought. We can hear it from inside our lanai. We have to turn them off when we have company.
