Sony and Bose are just brand names--they don't compare to these Bluedio R+ Legend Bluetooth headphones!
First off, I would like to say that I'm really disappointed that this does not include an actual charger you can plug into the wall! Also, the microphone does not work very well sometimes because some people constantly say they can't hear my or that they hear themselves echoing. Sometimes I can hear myself. So you don't always get a good bluetooth connection when using them to talk to people on a phone.Believe it or not, I was considering taking these back until I actually compared them to the Sony MDR-ZX770DC. But I found out by experience that Sony and Bose are just brand names--they don't compare to these Bluedio R+ Legend Bluetooth headphones!First I bought these and listened to some FLAC music and then I went and listened to some Bose, noise-canceling headphones and also the Sony MDR-ZX770DC at my local Costco wholesale store and the Sony sounded a lot better. And for some reason, I thought it sounded better than the Bluedio R+ Legend. So I bought the Sony MDR-ZX770DC and took it home to compare it to the Bluedio R+ Legend.I was astounded at the difference! The Sony is a lot weaker and not as amplified and did not even compare in the audio quality of the Bluedio. The only thing I liked about the Sony was that you can't hear the music when you are the bystander. My friends say that can hear the lyrics to my songs clearly when they stand near me with these Bluedio headphones. But that doesn't really matter because it's worth getting the better quality than the Sony.Be wary, though, because if you use the bluetooth on the Bluedio R+ Legend headphones, you will need to set the correct EQ (equalizer) preset for the type of music you are listening to. If you don't, then you will hear scratchy, static-light sounds for some instruments. For example it only happened to me when I was listening to FLAC audio. I had the preset on rock when I was listening to electronic music and the beats sounded fuzzy and static like until I switched the EQ to electronic. This didn't happen when the headphones were wired. Only by setting the right EQ presets (or your own custom settings if you are an expert) can you get the perfect sound of all the instruments for that specifc genre.Overall, these are the best headphones I've ever tried.

6 months and already falling apart.
I bought this in January 2016. It is now July 31, 2016.The Pros: Connects easily to bluetooth devices and sounds great. Great for stationary bike, fast walking or cleaning the garage. The Cons: The microphone on the headset has never worked well. Plastic that covers the band that goes over your head has already cracked.Someone else warned us of this when I bought it. I thought I bought the warranty but cant find record of it. The headset still works but now I must fix the problem.

Not great for phone calls! Echo, echo, echo!
I ended up sending these back as the microphone provides too much feedback and echo on the other side of the call. People could hear themselves talk. I think there is an issue with the mic being too close to the ear speaker, thus creating the echo that is heard on the other side. I will say that the quality seemed good as well as providing excellent sound quality with nice firm deep bass. I was a little upset that I had to send them back but if you use them for calls, particularly work calls, it will not work for you.Very easy Bluetooth setup and connection.

Was great for price, but now doesn't work as well... but EXCELLENT customer service.
I would have provided a higher rating if I had reviewed this a year ago. Unfortunately, a year and a half later I ran into two substantial issues. First, sound in the left ear no longer works when the cup is extended (must be in its shortest setting to work, which indicates some sort of loose connection internally on that side). Second, the 3.5mm jack doesn't work... I found this out when the battery died and didn't want to wait to recharge it for use over Bluetooth. I tried my PC, phone, and other devices... issue is definitely with these headphones. Note, the USB audio option works fine, but that's not a good option when I want to use it with my phone instead of my PC.Keep in mind, my headphones are stored in a sturdy case and sit on my desk at work. I don't travel with them, they don't get banged up, I don't take them home in my backpack, and no one else touches them. They're in pristine condition physically, so the flaw are internal to the product. And it's really unfortunate. This particular product doesn't appear on Amazon's listings anymore, and the closest I can find is this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Bluedio-Drivers-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00D8RVND0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1508179770&sr=8-3&keywords=bluedio+r%2B+legendSo be wary of long term reliability with these. It's unfortunate too... the sound (to price ratio) is actually pretty excellent. Yes, a bit on the bassier side, but I like that in my music.UPDATE 11/1/17:This might sound strange to some, and I admit it isn't necessarily reflective of the product itself, but I'm bumping my review from 2 stars to 4 stars simply due to OUTSTANDING customer service. As I mentioned above, it's been a year and a half since I purchased the R+ Legend. After the failures noted above, Bluedio Customer Service contacted me and offered a product replacement path that I'm completely satisfied with. I'm not sure if the options I was given are normal, but I'm applauding them for not only contacting me, but following up with repeated and timely emails to make sure I was satisfied. I'm sure to be a repeat customer when I purchase my next pair of headphones for the wife or kids.

Not charging and Amazons sad excuse for returns
Don't buy! This is a grand waste of money. Purchased these on a flash sale on Nov 30th for an xmas gift which were never opened until Dec 25th 2015 and they stopped charging on Feb 20th 2016. Amazon will not reimburse any money or the product. The item is clearly defective since it will no longer charge. Thanks amazon for being the best! Also in the future if anyone wishes to purchase any items from Amazon please make sure to know that they will not accept anything for returns AFTER 30 days from the order date. Make sure to tear open anyone's presents in the future to make sure that they are in working order BEFORE you wrap them.
