AcuRite Wireless Weather Forecaster with Intelli-Time, Gray with Silver Bezel

We have had this device for 3 years. We are very satisfied with the functionality. Sadly the outside unit doesn't last as stated in reviews. But 3 years is good.

This Accurite weather station runs on batteries and is very accurate. The Station gives Hi/Lo readings, moon phase and temperature as well as a forecast that is pretty accurate. I give 4 stars because there is no backlight for the screen . Even battery powered, an LED backlight takes minimal power and would be very useful. The screen is good sized and clear when external light is used.

I have had this same model weather station for several years and have enjoyed the accuracy andcreliability of the unit. Recently, the outside transmitter failed due to a corroded battery and I thought I was going to be out of luck finding a compatible transmitter to work with the indoor receiver. I was so pleased to find that I could still purchase the same model that would also work with my existing one! So now I have the luxury of having a weather station/ thermometer in my bedroom and in the kitchen!

I've had one of these before, it lasted 10 years. Easy to set up, accurate, smart looking without to distracting when hung on wall.

I GAVE THIS A 1 STAR ''ONLY'' BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THE SCREEN, NEEDS TO HAVE A WAY TO INCREASE THE LIGHT FOR A PERSON WITH SEEING ISSUES. I HAD ONE OF THESE FOR YEARS, SAME TYPE AND BRAND BUT IT FINALLY STOPPED WORK.

I purchased this weather station because the product description said it measured 9.5 x 1.5 x 8.75 inches. I was looking for a larger size for ease of reading. The actual size of the screen is 3.25 x 5 inches. Considerably smaller. The dimensions give are actually the size of the package it comes in. Very disappointed. It probably works good but I haven't decided if I am going to keep it.

As far as the performance goes against the spec, the unit is good. The time to catch up with the remote sensor once the batteries are inserted is short. The clock is accurately preset and instantly correct. So is the moon phase.The reason the review lost a star is because the display contrast is poor. Of course, you can see it very well. But it is quite dull. Gives you the impression of old days lcd electronics.You should know that the so called "intelli-clock" is actually a preset clock with a pre-installed button cell. When that cell runs out and if the unit is still working, you will have to change the cell and set the clock. However, these instruments generally don't last that long. Because, the weather elements outside constantly reduces the life span of the transmitter.
