Fist don't succeed try again
The first Carefree Marquee DC Awning motor that I received appeared to have been used. I tested it using a 12 VDC drill battery. To my surprise it would only turn in one direction. I returned it, reordering another. This 2nd received awning motor looked new. The wire ends were sealed unlike the first. I installed the motor into the awning, installed the 36 inch over the door awning. Worked as designed. Happy camper!

Fairly easy fix
Door awning on my 2000 Newmar Ventana has always sounded sort of strained and cranky since it was new. Finally failed in Alaska this summer. This version door awning has a plug in the front that allows you to crank the failed/extended awning in with a 3/8 socket drive so at least I wasn't trapped with the awning stuck out.Replaced the motor with this item without too much difficulty using detailed instructions available on the Carefree site. Instructions say there is no room in the cover to splice the wires but I really did not want to remove the whole awning, breaking weather seals and so on. So, managed to get good splices in the cover without too much difficulty as shown the photo. Must have taken a million trips up and down the ladder to get the IN/OUT limit switches set correctly, but the awning now works and sounds nice and smooth, and all is well.

Question
Okay so Can’t tell if the product is defected or I didn’t install it correctly. But the awning will retract but not leave . Also the motor gear only locks on one side . Tried to adjust is but was no good

Fits carefree wall awnings
Although the motor fits perfectly, be careful how you adjust it so it does not try to run after the awning is fully extended or fully closed. There are small plastic gears inside that will strip if there is too much tension on them.

FANTASTIC FIND
No photos to share due to the fact that it’s an inside install so you cannot see it. This is purchase for our door awning. Our coach is 10 years old and it’s a MONACO that’s hard to find parts just looking for used parts around the country. Found this on Amazon great price and can’t believe we were able to find the part on Amazon.

Take your time getting it to line up
Comes with a nice long cord. I was lucky enough to pull the old wire out all the way down to my inside switch panel. Getting the ends to lineup took some time and with the help of another person, I was able to get this awning back up and working like new..
