The F-5E belongs to the Northrop F-5 family of fighters which was first introduced in 1962. The F-5E is the improved second generation F-5 and a highly maneuverable dogfighter. Although it saw limited use by the U.S. military, the F-5 proved to be a successful combat aircraft for US allies. F-5Es served in US military aviation as a training and aggressor aircraft, generally mimicking the performance of agile MiGs fighter aircrafts.
