I use my MiCoach Pacer for all my runs!
I honestly can say I've always hated running. It's my least favorite form of exercise. The MiCoach changed that for me.It "keeps me on my toes" pushing me the whole time making sure I'm really giving it my all, while not over doing it.It really is like having a coach right there by your side.I started slow and over the course of a 2 month program I found myself slowly going faster and going further.MiCoach doesn't just stop there, as you become more efficient - it calculates your improvements and expects more of you! Before you know it this once couch potato was able to run 5 miles and walk away feeling refreshed - not like I was about to die!

Only question mark is the hardware...
I initially bought the Pacer from a different website and it arrived completely non-functional: it wouldn't even power-up after a hard reset. Not wanting to go without it during the warranty process I instead returned it and bought one from Amazon. The very first thing I noticed about it is that my unit never reaches a full charge. It is supposed to show that it is fully charged after two hours but I have plugged this thing in for ten hours and it never gets there. I don't know yet whether it's a software glitch or if it doesn't hold a charge well. (UPDATE: it now attains a full charge after having used it for several weeks.) Between that, the non-functionality of the first one I bought, the numerous reviews of short lifespans, and the all around cheap appearance and feel of the unit makes me uncertain of its life expectancy.Other minor issues: it would've been more convenient if the MP3 player slave port was on the other side of the unit, for use with an Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB Silver ; the earbud is worthless if you're gonna be involved in strenuous activities like running (it barely fits in my ear to begin with and would constantly fall out during running if I were to use it). From here on out the review is glowing. The website and training plans are excellent! Use of an MP3 player with the device is flawless (except for that minor "wrong side" thing). The stride sensor is pretty accurate right out of the box and re-calibrating it is a cinch if you have a GPS with you on your runs. Using the Pacer is pretty intuitive after your first activity. One FYI: make sure to thoroughly soak the ends of the transmitter's sensors with water prior to using or else your heart rate won't record accurately.Hopefully, the next version of this device will be a little more impressive with regards to looks, glitches, and durability; that is really the only thing holding it back from being a game changer in personal fitness (and from a five star review).Incidentally, the HRM strap and the footpod can both be used with the Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Enabled Watch .

love it!
I am so happy with the micoach. I started running outside instead of on the treadmill and this helps me keep a good pace. It tells me when to increase or decrease speed. I love that there are several programs to pick from. It will help me train for my 2nd half marathon. It is so easy to use which I love. Also, after you run, it uploads your data on the computer to show how you did and shows how you improve. I totally recommend it. It is great for beginner runners.

Difficult to use the first couple times
It took my husband a few times of trial and error to get this to work and sync properly. The instructions aren't very helpful, but now that he knows what to do, it's very fast. One thing to mention is that it does NOT sync with your smart phone unless you buy another separate cable, which he was kind of bummed out about.

back in the race
This is a great product that works really well and is user friendly for us old folks that are not so gadget friendly. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking to be able to keep track of their work outs and even for someone who wants some help to schedule what they should be doing and working todays.

the perfect training helper
I decided to purchase the miCoach pacer because I am planning to run a 50k and I wanted to train better than I do usually. This device is performing much better than I expected, not because of the electronic (which is great) but also because of the information behind it.The web tools are fantastic and I'm finally able to see when I'm going wrong in my runs. I also can clearly see my improvements.

This device does it all. It gives heart rate, distance, pace. The web site gives nurtition, stretching and running advice. The way it accumulates all the data is so helpful, you can see what day you ran the farthest, with the best pace ....However, I have difficulty remembering which button to push to hear updates as I run. Consequently, it didn't capture my whole run. I also have to remember what does, "green zone vs. blue zone vs. yellow zone" mean as far as my heart rate. All in all, I think that after a few more months of use, it will become second nature.

Great Buy!
I had been looking and researching other devices for monitoring, and this one just seemed like it had more for the price I was okay with paying. Been great!!!

The future is here
What a wonderful tool. I use it for tennis and it gives me my heart rate, speed on court and even a training program to follow once you have registered. (football, Basketball are also available)

Funktioniert erschreckend gut
