Almost perfect: update on fuel savings
Updated Review: Purchased for F150, this is nearly perfect with a couple minor flaws:The good:1. Is it strong and durable? Yes, this thing is no joke. As advertised, this cover is 1” thick, nice joints, and you can walk all over it. The shipping box was absolutely decimated by UPS, but the cover inside was still spotless. They probably could have shipped it loose and still arrived undamaged. Five stars here.2. Weather tight? No trifold is perfect, but this seals well. The weather stripping is triple layered and thick. Time will tell, but my test trip through the car wash resulted in a dry bed so I suspect it’ll hold up to rain just fine. Five stars.3. Easy to use? Again, confirmed as advertised. I had this out of the box and installed in five minutes with no help. I plopped it on the bed, lined it up (eyeballing it), tightened the four clamps, and that was it. No cutting, no rails, no parts, no hardware, or any other hassles the competing covers have. This is ridiculously easy to install, remove, and reinstall. There are zero parts to lose. I’d give this more than five stars if I could.4. Look: it’s low profile, the matte finish matches the OEM rail protectors perfectly, and suits the truck look just fine. Five stars. My only real complaint...5. Security: while the two cab side “jaw clamps” are solid aluminum and very sturdy, I was a little surprised the two gate side “patented jaw grip clamps” were just plastic. The design (use) is great (super easy to clamp into place in seconds), but they seem a flimsy detail for a cover otherwise built like a tank. I have no doubt this cover will stay put, but I suspect a casual thief could pry the end up without much work by applying leverage until the plastic clamps snap. I don’t think it would be too much trouble for the manufacturer to make these clamps a bit more robust at minimal cost, perhaps aluminum reinforced. I’d even pay for them if upgraded clamps were offered. With that said, I didn’t buy this cover with the expectation of getting Fort Knox security...nor is this advertised to be. It’s a far cry better than a soft cover and will keep out the casual thief, but I wouldn’t consider this high security if that’s your goal. A job site box under the cover would be recommended if you have valuable tools to store. Four stars here.Overall, the simplicity of this cover is fantastic and outweighs the minor beef I have with the clamps. I wanted a no hassle solid cover and that’s what I got. There’s literally two items in the box: the cover and the instructions. No parts to lose, no cutting, no drilling, lightweight but sturdy, easily installed and removed by a single person, and doesn’t interfere with bed liner.Worth the cost. I can’t stress enough how simple this cover is to install and use. Very happy with this purchase.Update 1: in researching covers, I found the topic of gas mileage frequently debated. Some studies claim significant savings, others report a negligible benefit, and yet others state covers actually hurt fuel efficiency somehow. Fuel efficiency wasn’t a factor in my decision to buy a hard cover, I just wanted a dry bed, but I thought I’d share my own fuel efficiency results for those that consider it a factor.I drove my full size f150 (super crew, 6.5’ bed, V8) for nearly a year before I got around to buying a cover and had a good handle of my actual MPG. I predominately drive at highway speeds (95% of the time). My routes and habits have not changed. My mileage is improved 1.1 mpg. My 12,000 miles per year under those conditions comes out to a couple hundred bucks a year, give or take. The cover will pay for itself in about four years, notwithstanding it’s other benefits like having a dry bed. For the few short local trips I do make in the truck, there was no noticeable difference. So, at higher speeds, this will certainly offset its own costs in fuel savings within its useful life. If I only drove locally at reduced speed, I would view that differently. Those are my findings, but your mileage may vary (pun intended).Update 2: I have kept the cover down to date as everything I’ve hauled fit under the lid. Today, I had a larger item, so I folded all the way back and used the two attached straps to secure it in the folded position. The one on the right clipped in solid. The one on the left would stay clipped. A light pull popped it loose. They are cheap plastic clips, so no big surprise. There was no way to get a bungee around it. I’ll be replacing these clips with something more secure.Still love this cover though. Staying dry.

Leaks and I had to pay for Freight to Return it
I really wanted this cover to work. I like that it is a thick and strong plastic, it doesn't dent, it has a scratch resistant coating, but it leaks, very badly. I installed this for a weekend getaway with the family. We had a light rain over night and everything in the bed got wet. I removed the cover, checked the gaskets, added some weatherstripping up by the cab, and installed it again. I washed the truck, and again there was a lot of water infiltration into the truck bed. I asked to return it, and I had to pay $293 for the fright to send it back.I believe the leaks could be eliminated if the clamps up by the cab were closer to the cab, and if they had 1 more set of clamps on each side. When I closed the bed and was under the cover I could see daylight in the corners and up by the cab. I also found the clamps that hold the cover down to be weak and flimsy, and difficult to secure.BE WARNED. IF YOU RETURN THIS ITEM YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE FREIGHT AND IT COST ME OVER $293.

Happy with the cover, but auto tailgate owners read on...
Excellent cover, great fit. Only issue that Ford truck owners will experience is that the trucks with electric tailgates such as my Raptor will be hampered and not fully lower when engaged.(It gets caught by the weather stripping on the underside of the cover and prevents it automatically lowering when triggered). It is a small thing and I prefer the water seal over the tailgate release...but some may have an issue with this.

Doesn't Like Rain
Firstly, the fitment on my F150 FX4 short bed could be better. It's a tad on the short side width-wise. But worst of all, out of the box the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 had a noticeable 10'' scratch in one top panel, chips in painted rails in various places, and a large blob of dried glue near a crooked mounted Extang badge. It's really sad when a product is well-designed, well-engineered, and produced with quality materials just to be mucked up at the human level down the line. The halfwit that flubbed up the badge and the nimrod who inspected the final product should be fired on the spot. Hey Extang ... how do I remove a large cyanoacrylate glue blob without damaging the paint??!! And how do I make your leaky hinges watertight? A substantial amount of water gets inside during an average rain.

Best Tonneau without Doubt
This is my second Extang Solid Fold cover, I had one on a 2012 Ford F250 Super Duty Long Bed and now I have the SolidFold 2.0 on a 2016 Ford F150 Long Bed (although that is only 6'). I don't know about Nissans (mentioned in another review), but when mounted correctly on a REAL truck, these do not leak and they are rugged as all hell. The only time anything gets under the cover is right at the tailgate if the cover is mounted slightly too far forward, you have to make sure it is positioned correctly when tightening it down when you put it on the truck. Also you have tighten the front clamps correctly so it can't slide at all. This is not difficult, no tools required. Leaking is an important factor for me, I have a bed rug and I am often carrying items that need to stay dry. This cover works perfectly. The finish on this one holds up better than the older version but even that one looked great after 4 Maine winters and 70K plus miles. One of my favorite features of this cover is that I can stand on it (and I am not small at 240-250). You won't be disappointed.

Bad latch design, and leaks at hinges
Overall, It's an attractive cover, but the functionality is below average. You'd be better off getting a cheap vinyl cover if you want to keep your stuff dry. One of the most annoying this is the latch design. You have to latch the cover first, then close the tailgate. This folds the edge seal up and if you don't fix it, it'll leak. Also, I'm sure this will prematurely wear out the weather stripping, but only time tell. Another problem I have is the cover leaks at the hinge points. I realize none of the trifolds can be completely water proof, but this thing leaks A LOT! I wouldn't want to keep anything back there that I would want to keep dry, which really defeats the purpose of buying one. The material for the handles are cheap plastic as well. For the money, I would have expected more.
