Decent Quality; Simple Installation
We purchased (2) Shoreline 8-inch cleats in order to add another boat to our dock The dock that we use is made by Alumadock, so machine bolts and nuts had to be used. Dock hardware for this system uses all 5/16" bolts, so we only needed to purchase (4) 5/16" x 4" stainless bolts, nuts and washers. This size bolt head fits perfectly into the recesses in the top of the cleats. For those who own wooden docks, 5/16" lag bolts are available and will also fit into the same recesses. Good product at a reasonable price.

Great cleat for a boat dock
These are very nice cleats but don't be surprised if you have to do a little work to keep them from fraying up your ropes. The galvanizing process can leave some burrs and rough spots that need to be smoothed down and it's easily done with a file or Dremel tool. I used a Dremel with a sanding drum and fixed up 10 in just few minutes. I'd give the five stars if I didn't need to work on them. I almost bought the large nylon cleats and still like those a lot but for the money these are a great buy.

Bolted it to a test board and it works fine for training purposes
Bolted it to a test board and it works fine for training purposes, which is why I bought it. Glad I got this size as it seems to more nearly mimic the one on the boat so training will be better with the correct size cleat. Most folks have no idea how to tie to a cleat so this one will train folks so they will be able to do it correctly. Thanks, John.

A nice galvanized cleat for the dock at a good price
As expected. A nice galvanized cleat for the dock at a good price. They do have the China stamp on them, but you'd have to look close once it's in place to see it. They could be quite a bit smoother, but it's not really an issue.

Incredibly Sturdy Cleat
I bought this to secure my makeshift hoist for lifting firewood to my second level deck fireplace. Itβs incredibly sturdy and weather proof. Works great.

Good for the "right price".
These are solid however they do have a rough surface finish. I use regular braided nylon dock rope with these and there is no problems. I have 10 installed on my dock and they are working good. The price on Amazon fluctuates tremendously. When I bought mine they were 3.29 each and at the time of this writing they are over 10 dollars each. 3.29 was a good deal, 10 dollars not so much.

Excellent product
Made in China, but made well. Only one out of six ordered needed any work before installation, and that was just some light filing. Uses 5/16 inch bolts, and has a recess for the bolt head so that tightening it from below decks is no problem. I put six of these on a home-built 30 foot wooden power boat. They will outlast the boat.

These are a pretty rough Cleat
These are a pretty rough Cleat. The 3/8" Bolt holes are very rough and I tried to get one bolt to at least drop slightly into the hole by hitting with a hammer. It busted the cleat in half. If you can get it started it will pull itself into the slot but not all that well made.

Solid excellent for 1/2" dock lines
Solidly built and galvanized. Perfect for 1/2" dock lines. Rough galvanized finish prevents lines from slipping ensuring a safe tie up. Stove bolt recessed pockets hold bolts in place and out of the way below surface of cleat. Will buy again.

Bolt Holes not clean
I went to install each of the two cleats that I purchased.. only to find that on each cleat, one of the two recommended hex bolts would not seat properly .... likely due to a casting or galvanizing issue when the cleat was made.....as a result one bolt on each is not properly "countersunk"
