An informative read, let down by poor proofreading.
As a book on Gaydon-era Aston Martins this book is a legend. Packed full of information on every model, colour and trim options, and everything else anyone looking to purchase, or even just interested in, the VH-series cars.Mr Neal has obviously spent a great deal of time researching this tome, it is a shame then, especially as the author boasts that writing books is his profession, that after 16 editions it still remains crammed with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. The narration jumps between “I” and “we” and there are pages when sentence after sentence starts with the same word. Add in the odd mix of English and American spelling (“colour” on one page, “color” on the next) and the abundance of errant apostrophes and you start to wonder just how accurate the author’s research is, given that it doesn’t appear that in 16 editions he has ever bothered to even run a basic spelling and grammar checker over the book. It’s a shame; I was really looking forward to this book, indeed I had planned to purchase another of the author’s guides, however on reflection I think I’ll pass…

Essential reading
A must for anyone in the market for their first Aston Martin. All the information your going to need and what to look out for when buying one of these fantastic cars.I found it invaluable when I bought my first Aston many years ago. Unfortunately I lent my original copy to a friend and it disappeared. So when this digital version came along I bought it just to brush up on my knowledge.

Detailed and informative for any Aston Martin owner or enthusiast.
Comprehensive and detailed with many pictures giving history and evolution of Aston Martin. Useful to both prospective owners as well as enthusiasts. Clearly written with impressive knowledge base at hand. Grant Neil has clearly written a very thorough and well laid out document. The price is a bit on the high side, however, it is minuscule compared to the cars being covered.

Brilliant book
If you are looking to buy a used new era Aston Martin, or are just interested in all the features, options and technical info on the Gaydon Aston Martin, then this book is most definitely for you.As someone who is in the process of buying a V8 Vantage, this book proved to be an incredible time saver, ensuring that I didn't spend hours trawling through various web sites looking for answers to the various questions I had.It gives a comprehensive list of standard features and options for each model, from V8 and V12 Vantage and special editions, through DB9 to DBS and Virage. There's an area detailing the things to look out for when buying a used Aston and an owner's section at the back where current owners give their feedback on what it's like to live with the car on a daily basis. This is a brilliant book and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you are interested in this marque, you will not be disappointed with this book!

So its like a lot of stuff in a blokes shed
Certainly helped with the details of knowing what was std and what were options of the Vantage.... All the other info on the rest of the range was interesting but as I only have one model will be of little use but pub info.A specific model book would have been the same but smaller ....So its like a lot of stuff in a blokes shed .... It'll come in handy even if I never use it !!

If you are considering purchasing or are interested in any of Aston Martin's cars from the Gaydon era this book is an absolute must read. It is rammed full of useful information and literally leaves no topic uncovered. It covers in infinite detail from model conception, specifications and updates all the way through to buying used and ownership accounts. Plus it's written in an easy to understand manor. It's obvious that the author has a real passion and enthusiasm for the marque. Don't hesitate, just buy it, read it and enjoy.
