Didn’t last a month
It was delivered Aug 27th and broke on Sept 12. The “arm” is very sturdy. However, the non-scratch clip that holds the device is just cheap plastic. That part of the device is no better than the cheaper versions of device mounts. Also, if the tablet’s charging cable is on the side (like my ipad), the device tilts to the heavier side. There seems to be no way to hold the device in the proper horizontal position. I am very disappointed with this product. It had to be defective because I never adjusted that piece after the original installation. I used it in the same position each time. I removed my ipad from the holder and it just broke off. Its not as “heavy duty” as one might think. Don’t buy this one.

Just another piece of cheap junk with fake reviews.
Like so many other products being sold on amazon these days: this thing is a low-quality piece of cheap junk:- The piece that is supposed to hold your ipad is low-quality plastic junk. When the arms are fully extended to accomodate your ipad there is obvious flexion in them and it will obviously fail in short order.- The clamp bends as you tighten it such that sufficient clamping force is difficult to achiveve. This is fine if you are clamping it to a horizontal surface, but it eventually slips of when clamped to a vertical surface.- mine slipped off the vertical surface it was attached to — even when only supporting nothing but its own weight. If I had had an ipad attached, it would almost certainly have been damaged in the fall.

Mostly excellent quality - read for more details.
We teachers who are 100% online right now are having to become very creative in how to push lessons out to our students. My school requires me to teach live (through online video) and record my lessons for kids who might miss the live instruction. I learned about using my iPad or phone as a document camera from a fellow teacher, and also know a teacher who has this exact stand and loves it. I ordered it and it arrived a day early (thank you, Amazon!). I tested it out and observed a few things:1. It easily fits my iPad Air 2 with a Unicorn Beetle protective case. I may need to line the clamps with a little bit of soft material to help it grip a little tighter, as it’s just a little bit loose. It does hold the tablet pretty steady, though.2. The clamp is excellent. I have it mounted to the table I’m temporarily using as a desk and it’s good and solid.3. It took a bit of maneuvering to get the gooseneck exactly where I wanted it, but that’s a good thing - the stand would be useless if the neck moved too easily.4. Assembly is super easy and took me about 2 minutes to figure out.5. I used it for two classes today and it was great. Did exactly the job I needed it to do.6. I love that it’s a clamp and not a stand with a base. I can clamp it on the side of my table and still have room to lay paper down and write without being afraid of knocking it over.7. The clamp that holds the tablet sees solid but worries me a little. I don’t get the sense it will break at the slightest tug or anything, but it’s something I feel I need to be careful with.Overall, I’m pleased so far. We’ll see how it does after a few weeks of use in my classes. I’ll update after I’ve used it for a bit longer.

Only lasted 3 days before breaking!
I really wanted to like this holder as its one of the few tablet holder/clamps that opens wide enough for bigger tablets. The clamp side that clamps on to a desk or table is sturdy. Also, the metal arm is very sturdy, while still being adjustable. The clamp that holds the tablet is sturdy as well. However, the plastic part that goes around the metal ball joint/swivel and is on the back side of the tablet clamp cracked in only 3 days of use and is no longer usable. Better quality control, design, and materials, is needed here. I will look elsewhere for a longer lasting solution. The search continues...

Plastic parts are prone to failure. 12.9" iPad too heavy to stay in position.
The plastic ball joint mechanism will crack if you adjust the position of the iPad without first loosening the ball joint clamp. Also, I am using it with a 12.9" iPad Pro and Otterbox case. The weight of those two items exceeds the ability of the flexible arm to hold things stable unless the iPad is positioned more or less over the clamp that secures the unit to your desk. It works. But you have to treat it gently and don't expect it to hold the large 12.9" iPad in position except in a limited range.

Cheap Plastic
Broke on day 2 of use. Using with a 7 inch tablet. Called customer service and no answer. No ability to leave message either as the "mailbox is full" message was received.

Ipad holder
I bought this for my treadmill and i love it! My treadmill is simple and slim ( not like those cool large ones with screens) so I bought this to attach to the existing tray/phone holder which is too small and too low for my ipad. I usually only walk on the treadmill but this ipad holder has been sturdy so far. I never take it off and it's remained in place for months without me having to readjust it.

This unit will NOT hold a 12.9" ipad pro
The description states the clip expands to 9.5 inches but it actually goes to just 8.5" therefore will not hold horizontally a large ipad pro. Very disappointed the description says it has a large capability. Second one I'm shipping back poor and inaccurate description. Looks like it would work well for smaller tablet.
