Super sturdy, and the rack is removable
I bought this for storing bottles of ink, not ammunition, so I was glad to find that yes, the adjustable rack for holding rifle cartridges can simply be lifted out. The case remains very sturdy and strong for its size. Note that when you remove the rack the bottom interior of the case is not a simple flat plane: it is crossed by plastic "walls" that would be supporting the ammo rack. There are also narrow vertical ridges on the interior sides of the box, to support the rack. So you end up with a slightly irregular quartet of storage wells, divided by "walls" that are 1" and 0.75" tall (front to back, and side to side, respectively). Sorry I don't have calipers handy to give you an exact measurement of any of these spaces or structural elements.

Seems to be a good product
Excellent case for 6.5 PRC, 7mm PRC, 300 PRC, and 300 win mag. The adjustable depth makes this idea for about any magnum caliber rifle. Excellent product.
