Oreck Venture Pro Multifloor Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner, SK30080PC - Corded

This is the best vacuum I've ever owned and I've had quite a few in my time. The bags are a little expensive but they hold quite a lot and the benefits far outweigh any minuses. Got tired of those Bagless wonders that couldn't do a heavy duty job. I live on a ranch and always have dirt, wood chips and hair being dragged in so I wanted something with a powerful suction. This is it! The long hose has never gotten clogged which really was my biggest surprise. It's not quite as easy to maneuver as an upright but the difference is like comparing a tricycle with a Harley Davidson. This vacuum is the Harley Davidson!

This vacuum broke within 3 months of light use. The cheap plastic bracket that holds the attachment on snapped. I took it to a local Oreck dealer to repair as it was under warranty. They were clueless and said they didn't know how to fix this model and Oreck has a terrible training program for new items. I tried to have amazon deal with it but they said I would have to go through Oreck because it was 30 days after delivery. Even though the seller is listed as Amazon.comLLC. I spent $500 on a vaccum I can't use. I tried to call Oreck Corperate in Corkville, TN. I spoke to Melissa Weaver who was no help at all. She asked me to send an email with all the details, I did that day August 15. Nothing. I resent email, Nothing. I called again today, she had no memory of any of it. Kept me on the phone for 20 minutes while she did what? I don't know. The end result is that the part I need is on backorder. She has no idea how long it will be on backorder. She couldn't tell me the name of the part or send a picture of it. Pretty sure I will never see that again. I am so angry that amazon won't help. I have a personal Prime account and one for the Warner Bros show I work on. I can promise if its not resolved they will lose two long time customers. Bad move Amazon**9/5. Amazon has now refunded for the total amount. We purchased a Miele and are hoping for better results.

This vacuum is okay. I own a cleaning company and will only use canister vacuums because there's nothing better for hardwood floors. I always loved kenmore til amazon bought them out and the product went downhill fast! The price went up and the vacuum only lasted a 2 months (I went through 3 of them til I learned my lesson) The suction is good on this one but I HATE that you have to use your hand to switch to the hardwood floor attachment. Also the brush doesn't pick up great on hardwood, if it's not fur it just pushes it around. The hose kinks up ALOT also. I wish the head on the carpet piece was bigger too. All in all it's okay but I think I'll try a different one next time.

The suction and accessories were great, but in less than 2 yrs, the connection piece from the handle pole to the vacuum head broke. It is a flimsy, tiny piece of plastic that held the whole connection together [eye roll]We have used heavy duty duck tape multiple times, but it just isn’t enough. We finally gave up after 3 1/2 yrs

Now that I've used this vacuum for over two months I feel I can give a fair review after multiple uses.I've been an Oreck fan for many years. I've tried other brands but always came back to the upright Oreck in the end for the following reasons. I felt it was lighter in weight, was easy to push and most of all had a bag. I'm just one of those people that prefer a dust bag. The only problem I had with my oreck upright was getting around and under furniture. It's the layout and small space of my home that creates this issue for me.I knew the answer was a canister with a smaller power head so buying a brand I was already pleased with was an easy choice for me.This canister vacuum is nicely made and truly is so much more quieter than any vacuum I've owned in my lifetime. It has various suction levels that are easily adjusted with the tap of my foot. There are small onboard tools under the hood which serve my needs. Enough so if I'm vacuuming the carpet and come across dusty blinds I'm able to disconnect the floor attachment and put the dusting attachment on the handle. It's easier than taking out a hand held vac to do these chores. The dust is taken care of as I go along. I LOVE how the power head is small enough to go between furniture alleviating my need to move heavy pieces to clean. I'm also able to get all the way under beds and living room sofa and chairs that are raised on small legs. The unexpected and possibly the best surprise is how much easier this is on my back. Because I'm just pushing the power head on the pole while the vacuum follows behind me vacuuming is as close to effortless as I'm going to get. This model has a long power cord that coils in a flash inside the unit and saves me from changing outlets as often. The suction is what I'd expect from an Oreck, it's great! It came with an attachment for hardwood floors which I haven't used because unfortunately I don't have any. I hope someday that changes for me.The only things that I think could be improved are a swivel apparatus where the hose attaches to the main body. I find myself straightening out the hose but even if it does loop the hose hasn't kinked or lost suction. I also would have appreciated a head lap on the power head to see more clearly under dark areas under furniture.I'm happy with this purchase. I know there are many choices today in vacuums and I'm very pleased with mine.

I have been an Oreck fan for 20 plus years. I supplied my home cleaning staff with uprights for years. Since retirement I decided to not have any carpets just area rugs. Three big shedding dogs. This canister is great. Light weight. Lots of suction. Cleans area rugs and chases down all the fur clouds.The only issue I have is the access door hinge. Oreck you can do better. I just have to take care as the hinge wants to hang up. Other than that I'm still a fan.

Well worth the price. Dependable, sturdy, does the job
