These work great as both a slip and turn plate so suddenly your string alignment can be done easily on a 4 post hoist.

I was skeptical at first, but after using it, my alignment is nearly perfect. I honestly wish I had bought this a long time ago. I'm a welder, so I built my own wheel brackets to align all my tires—but you can also find compatible wheel alignment brackets online.You'll also need to get a steering lock that applies pressure between the steering wheel and the seat to keep it in place. Start by aligning the rear driver-side wheel with the front driver-side wheel while the steering is locked at a near-perfect level. Then move to the passenger side and align those wheels. I set mine to zero, right within spec.After driving the truck to test it out, I was so happy . This was one of the best purchases I've made, especially when paired with the two other items. Turn smoothly with a lot of weight. Angle gages are difficult to read and not reliable if using Bubble gage or manual caster measurement device.

Used on older car while trying to do a DIY suspension setup. I'm not sure this product is 'perfect' per se, but it allows far easier movement than just using directly on tire to floor contact. (Also better than the plastic bag tip.) They are 'metal' of some sort and held up through at least one usage. While I've seen form 'attacks' on 'single axis plates', these plates do allow more 'wobble' on the tire as the turns are made (Setting Caster requires the tires to be turned from one side to the other), so I don't consider this a 'single axis'.While I lowered the wheel/tire down on the plate, it would be suggested that 'driving across' would be preferred, but requires the use of blocks/ramps as you can't drive up on the plate as it is 2" high. I did not take that step until I determined whether the plates actually worked. At this point, I probably need to buy the needed lumber and create the ramps. (Keep in mind, the rear also has to be raised/blocked up as well as the car needs to be leveled.) So to do it right, you'll also need to plan to buy lumber, build a ramp and then deal with additional storage.I'd recommend to others based on a single usage. Long term durability to be determined.
