MiniSun Branded 3W Super Bright GU10 Energy Saving LED Light Bulb [6500K Cool White]

Day 1 Saturday 7th January 2017 - All working fine. I'll keep you updated.I bought these as a sensible replacement for Starlight 50w GU10 Warm White Halogen spotlights in my kitchen. I replaced all 8 today and i intend to monitor how well they perform. This will then dictate if I install more around the house.First impressions are good. The colour is very comparable. The Starlights are described as 2900k and the MiniSuns are described as 3000k. So, all feels right here. As for brightness, the Starlights are said to output 400 lumens vs the MiniSun 450 lumens. In terms of comparison, I would say this is about right. My impression was that the MiniSuns were 10-20% brighterI like the frosted front to the MiniSuns which means the light is less harsh than the typically glass fronted halogen. The beam spread is said to be 110 degrees, which I can believe. The kitchen looks great with a lovely even bright light that these give off.It's the low power and long life that is converting me here. The wattage of the MiniSun is a fantastic 5W vs the halogen 50W so that's a given. Reduced electricity bills and no wasteful hot bulbs - the MiniSuns give off no heat. I just need to see if these will last - that's why I put them in the kitchen!All in all a great start for the MiniSun. I'll keep you updated on how well they last.Update - June 2017. After 5 months regular kitchen use all bulbs remain working and bright - still very happy.Update - October 2018. After 18 months in my high traffic kitchen,​ all bulbs are still going strong. These are excellent bulbs!

They maybe low energy but 3/10 have died in just over a year of fairly infrequent use. Contacted seller, they pointed me to Amazon, they said the warranty is just two months(!) and so there is nothing they could do. I should also add that the fronts fall off (see picture) revealing wires. So although they work for a while and are quite good bright and presumably don't use too much power they are shorter lived than a standard bulb and so I cannot recommend. If they sorted out either their quality control or customer service then they may have been ok but on balance, AVOID!

They are advertised as 20,000 hours of use, mine have had a fraction on these hours and I am having to replace! I emailed the seller and they tell me that I purchased to long ago so are out of warranty ( in other words don't give a monkeys) 2 years of use would only be 17520 hours if I had them on 24 hours day, so how can the warranty not cover this?? False advertising in my eyes. Poor quality

I needed these as my last set of LED lights were 6 years old and one out of the 3 had gone faulty. Fitted them in 2 minutes, turned on the switch and boy what a difference. The makr it look like someone has taken the roof off and you're stood in broad daylight. I leave my lights on in the kitchen 24/7, for my dog so she can find her water bowl. The last lot lasted 6 years 24/7, I'll let you know the longevity of this set,although it's a forgone conclusion that LED lights last for years. The price of this set of 10, was an absolute bargain, my last set ,3 of them would be the same as this lot of 10, worth every penny.

I bought the pack of 10 of these to go into 5 x IP65 rated lampholders on spikes in the garden to uplight my fences. The lights come on at sunset and off at sunrise each day, so between 8 and 14 hours a night. After a few months one of the bulbs looked dim and then over the next few days hardly light up at all, so I replaced it. Over the 12 months since I purchased them I've had to replace all 5 bulbs using up my spares, and now I've another one on the way out so will have to buy more.They are cheap, the colour is good and they produce a decent amount of light for ambient lighting, but lasting for less than a year isn't acceptable. Definitely worth paying a little more for reliability.

DISSAPOINTED! Having bought this brand before and have been very pleased, I now have these arrive and find that they are only half as bright as the previous lamps. Description seems the same at first glance but read the small print. You need to use more of these to achieve the light level required.

I bought these on 31st Aug 2016 and now on 23rd July 2017 I have 2 blown bulbs from the four bought, this represents a 50% failure rate. The literature mentions 20000 hours, but as mine were in a bathroom with an average time on of say 3 hours a day, x, say 300 days, well lets round it up to 1000, yes, not anywhere near the life span as mentioned. Apart from this, the appearance and performance from the lamps is excellent, but sadly very expensive. Have I just been very unlucky?, Twice!.

The headline product description is 'warm white' which is incorrect - hence the mark-down in my rating. When deciding whether to purchase them, bear in mind that the colour temperature is actually 3000K, not the 2700K normally considered 'warm'. (To be fair - this 3000k temperature is correctly stated in the detailed product description.) So, the bulbs are a noticeably colder white than the Philips 'warm white' LEDs I have recently bought, and which I had hoped to match. Of course they are much cheaper than Philips and may be absolutely fine for a kitchen, say, but personally I wouldn't use them where I was trying to create a warmer atmosphere.
