Comet Pump Pressure Washer Pump - 2.5 GPM, 2700 PSI, 5 HP to 6.5 HP Required, Model# BXD2530G

I'm not sure if I got a defective pump or if the pump design just isn't good. Worked great for about 20 minutes blasting away then suddenly lost power noticeably. Oil level is fine...checked water flow rate out of spigot before ever using the pump, fills a 5 gallon bucket in half the time listed as a minimum. I'm wondering if it is a heating problem causing friction in the valves, as from a cold start it is at high pressure then drops SUDDENLY after the pump warms up. Pump never gets too hot in my opinion, if anything it feels like the coolest running pump I have ever used.As a side note, pump did not come as pictured... it was missing the silver pressure hose connection. Thankfully connections seem to be universal and was able to use the fitting from the old pump.I do need to add though that the pump looks to be well manufactured...clean casting, an nice machining...not sure why mine is problematic. Was also a breeze to install.

Installation was easy, and the pump works great. A thermo-coupling would have been nice, but an easy fix for later. Yeah, I would recommend this pump.
