Excellent Machine and Just What We Needed!
Our house is roughly 2/3 carpet and 1/3 hardwood floors. We also have two cats (certainly not nearly enough to be considered overrun, even less a feline rescue home), and those two little darlings track litter. Lots of litter. Between times hauling out our heavy vacuum, I’ve been using a cordless car vac to collect all the little white grains of litter off of the hardwood. Well, our daughter-in-law recently visited, saw me with the car vac (immediately took over), and enthusiastically recommended this cordless Shark upright. She extolled how great it is in cleaning floors, how I’d love the cordless feature, and how much better it would be for me to not be using the car vac. She was absolutely correct. I love this vacuum! It’s quiet, holds its charge for roughly 40-45 minutes, is easy to maneuver, and most important, takes care of all the kitty litter along with dust and cat hairs. The rotating blades are very efficient and seemingly act to leave the floors looking like they’ve been polished. It’s not exactly what I’d call lightweight , but it’s not too burdensome. It took me awhile to study the manual (which was easy to print off the internet), but the various attachments, filters, and modes of operation are pretty much intuitive. I’ve found I can do the entire hardwood floors 3X on one charge, and I’ve easily taken apart and cleaned the bin and filters each time the vacuum has needed recharging. Based on the manual, that frequency is unnecessary, but I like to keep the vacuum as clean as possible. I have only two minor complaints which do not detract from the 5 star rating: 1) I wish the battery charge indicator light were placed on top rather than on the side so that it’d be easy to glance at while the vacuum is in use. As it is, I know generally when I’m close to running out of power, but the end has also come as a surprise (and it always comes without warning). A visible, low power warning light would be helpful in timing more closely what specific areas to clean first; and 2) the HEPA filter doesn’t lift out on ours. The instructions I read and the Shark Company video I watched—along with other videos—show it just lifting out easily. Ours is clearly not moving. It doesn’t appear by any stretch as if it’s put in crooked, but it’s not budging. I figure when the time comes for cleaning it, I’ll have to take it to a vacuum repair shop, as I’m not about to force it loose. BTW, I’ve not used this vacuum on carpets. I know it’s supposed to work well on any flooring, but our carpets have a deep pile and I figure the Shark would lose power quickly in that environment plus the standard upright vacuum we have does an excellent job. The Shark has its established niche in my cleaning routine and it’s a very welcome addition!

Great for pet hair
I’m so glad I took a chance and purchased this vacuum. It’s lightweight, holds a charge for a long time, and is so easy to maneuver around furniture. It picks up dog hair and everything else too. It also picks up along the baseboards, which is not something I expected. I have laminate floors, so I can’t comment on how it performs on carpet. If you have trouble managing a heavy vacuum, I think this would be a perfect solution for you. I bought this on Prime Day, and I do recommend not paying full price because it is not a heavy-duty vacuum. For what I paid and for its performance and ease of use, it deserves five stars.

I'm in love!
UPDATE 04/26/2025: I'm changing my initial review from 5 to 4 stars. It's been a couple of years now and I continue to use this vacuum on a daily basis. The battery continues to work great and the suction is still good. I periodically clean the dirt canister as well as the rolling brush. While the canister is fairly easy to clean, the rolling brush is a huge pain. You can't remove the rolling brush to properly clean the cover around it, which leads to dirt/debris buildup. I've tried several different long, skinny cleaning tools to get all the dirt but it's seriously impossible to get it all. And if you use any type of cleaner or water while trying to clean the cover you not only get dirt buildup but mud as well. A vacuum at this price should not have this problem. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've never spent over $300 on a vaccum before, the most I've ever spent was just over $100. After my dirt devil stopped working recently I decided it was time to invest in a worthwhile vacuum that wouldn't stop working in six months time. I've never owned a Shark product before but have consistently heard positive things about their products over the years. Most of the online reviews were positive and this particular model has all the features that I was looking for. I really do encourage everyone to read through the instruction guide/product manual prior to using the vacuum for the first time. It's important to know the proper way to clean and use each part of the vacuum. Proper maintenance can make all the difference in extending the life of the vacuum. The vacuum was a breeze to put together. Each piece easily locks into place without having to push hard. It was pretty straightforward for me but the included manual does an excellent job of showing how to connect all the parts. It came with two smaller extension pieces which are both extremely easy to place on and remove. I'm not a huge fan of the brush extension piece. I used it on my couch cushions to vacuum up small crumbs and debris but the suction on the brush extension is so weak that it barely picked up any of it. I do want to point out that this is ONLY the suction when you're using the brush extension. The suction on the main vacuum parts is AMAZING. I live in a tiny, two bedroom apartment that has high traffic. The amount of dirt and debris brought inside from our unpaved, dirt driveway is disgusting....so much so that I'm often vacuuming 2-5 times daily. The bedrooms are both carpeted but there's also hardwood and linolium like flooring. I am so impressed with the way this vacuum gets all the dirt and dust off my kitchen floor (as well as my entrymat.) I'm EVEN MORE impressed with the way this vacuum cleans my low carpeting. I keep my apartment pretty tidy and was using my old dirt devil to vacuum the two carpeted rooms on a daily basis, so I didn't expect much when I first tried this out on the carpet in my small bedroom. The amount of dust and dirt that this got out was enough to fill the debris cannister (not packed full.) Since then I've vacuumed over the entire carpet in my room 2-3 times, each time with the same result. It's GROSS how much my old vacuum left behind. You can't visibley see the dust and dirt on the carpeting so it was quite a shock. Emptying the debris cannister is super easy, though you do have to detach the top, handheld portion of the vacuum in order to do it. I love how it literally pops open with the push of a button. I read in other reviews how some people have had issues with their debris cannister opening unexpectedly or not being able to detach it properly when it comes time to rinse it out, but nothing like that has ever happened to me. The battery life has been great. Fully charged I can vacuum my entire apartment (kitchen, livingroom and two bedrooms) and still have some battery power leftover. It comes with a charging cord which easily plugs into the top of the vacuum or there's also the option of removing the battery from the vacuum entirely and just plugging the battery into the cord. In order to stand upright without falling over you have to sort of fold the vacuum in half, which may sound like it's a hassle (it was a concern of mine prior to purchasing) but it's actually really simple. Straight out of the box the vacuum comes labeled with small stickers (easily removed without leaving any residue) that easily explain the function of each button or gadget. This was extremely helpful for me in the first couple of days when I was still learning how to manuever and operate the vacuum. Once I got the hang of things I just peeled the stickers off but you could leave them on if you choose. I've owned this vacuum for less than a month so I'll have to wait and see how it holds up in the future. Will update review as needed, but from what I've seen so far I don't believe I have much to worry about. UPDATE - JULY 2023: I've been using this vacuum daily since purchasing it in February and I'm still just as impressed as I was in the beginning. Cleaning it has been so easy. The only thing that bothers me in regards to cleaning it is you're unable to detach the rolling brush to clean it properly. You're still able to wipe it off but since it doesn't come out it makes it impossible to clean the plastic cover which gets caked with dirt. After 5 months of regular use the suction is still as powerful as it was on day one. The lights on the bottom are helpful for seeing dust and debris that I would have otherwise missed. This vacuum is incredible!

Best invention since the cordless phone… Awesome!
I’m 75 years old and have owned more vacuum cleaners than I care to think about. I purchased another brand cordless vacuum stick last month and really liked it until it died after just a few weeks… Researching for a replacement with better reliability, I found this wonderful Shark Vacuum Stick…. My initial impression was that it’s a bit heavy and slightly clunky compared to the Samsung model I just returned, but after using this baby a few times I love it. It’s AWESOME! This Shark does a great job cleaning my dark brown bamboo floors and the area rugs in my 3000 square foot house without recharging. The Samsung had to recharge after about 1500 sq Ft. Emptying the large dirt bin isn’t an unpleasant experience, and after releasing the motor/canister from the stick I was impressed with how easy disassembly and reassembly went… At my age, dust on baseboards and chair rails, as well as some dirt in corners and other hard to reach areas has become the norm. My Roomba and the corded uprights just couldn’t get those hard to reach areas on the floors, and it’s just too hard on my knees and back to crawl around more than a few times each year. I found accessories on all upright cleaners too awkward and difficult to use…. but I was inspired by the Shark’s light weight and gave it a try… All I can say is WOW! Baseboards, corners and close to furniture and cabinets are now spotless! My house hasn’t been this clean in a long time… Best of all, I’m not exhausted from the task. LOVE my Shark cordless stick vacuum!!! Time will tell about long-term reliability and battery life. Some good news I found in my research… the replacement battery cost for the Shark is about half the cost of a Samsung battery. Next time this vacuum goes on sale I’ll be buying several as presents for friends and family! My advice is buy two or three of these…. One for yourself and one for your elderly parents/grandparents… they’ll love it and thank you for it! UPDATE**** Still going strong at about 4 months use. I ordered an extra battery, which is easily swapped out. Just push a button and the battery releases. I was given two Dyson V6 cordless vacuums by a neighbor who isn’t very mechanically inclined … The Dyson isn’t the latest model, but a comparison: After ordering aftermarket batteries, it was easy to remove a few screws and replace the originals. The Shark is quieter, easier to use, and definitely easier to swap a spare battery. The Dyson is a bit prettier, and may have slightly more suction, although it’s only a one speed suction. Both will get the job done. If you want to impress someone else, get a Dyson. If you want a better all around machine at a good price, get the Shark.

Lightweight and easy to maneuver.
I’ve had this Shark cordless vacuum for a while now; at the beginning I was hesitant but now I can say it’s been one of the best cleaning purchases I’ve made. The battery still holds a charge really well and easily lasts long enough for me to vacuum my whole house without having to stop and recharge. The suction is surprisingly powerful for a cordless vacuum. It picks up everything from dust and crumbs to pet hair without any issues, and it works great on both hard floors and rugs. I was hesitant about the price at first, but after using it regularly, I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. It’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and has held up really well. If you’re looking for a cordless vacuum with strong suction and a battery that lasts, I definitely recommend this one.

FORGET SPENDING MORE MONEY!
So happy that I chose this model! I did my research and it paid off. For my 1200 sq. ft. 2 bedroom condo, this is awesome!! Great battery life, great tools, excellent transition from hardwood to carpet, and excellent suction. It's a little heavy on my shoulder, but I knew it would be. Just cleaned it for the first time and it was so easy. No need to spend anymore money, unless you really want a docking station. I can't see any other reason.

Meh
I needed to replace my Samsung jet 75 cordless stick vacuum I purchased back when the Treasure Truck was a thing. It was a terrific price and worked well until it didn't -- the dustbin cracked and became difficult to release and empty. I replaced it with this, which has decent reviews, but some of the problems in other reviews I have also. the -Suction isn't exceptional, but merely alright. -Vacuuming stairs in a narrow space is challenging because if the handle is upright the roller doesn't roll, so it doesn't really do anything unless the vacuum suction area is directly over what needs to be sucked up. (definitely NOT a suck-up!) -It's a bit loud -the dust bin doesn't evacuate easily or as nicely as I'd like. I ALWAYS need to pull out my hair, and my kitty's hair which gets stuck inside the dust bin. -the filters don't clean well even if rinsed after each use -- the little circle of dust just doesn't rinse out of either the foam filter, nor the felt filter. -the dust bin doesn't seem to be able to be returned to like-new cleanliness -- too many small crevasses -- extra tools are needed -my kitty is afraid of it (she only was cautious of the Samsung but didn't run away from it) -the price for the ease of use and cleaning ability do not coincide -- it's too expensive for the usage I'm receiving from it. -The floor attachment still gets long hair or loose carpet strings wrapped around it, even though the product details say that the design doesn't allow for that. +I like the light on the floor attachment +comes with two batteries which makes it convenient when one is needing a charge the other could be used and the 'empty' could be charged. The roller of the floor attachment picture is after I cleaned it, and after I cut my very long hair (I could sit on it) to just below chin length (it will grow back). I would not purchase this one again. I'm very sad I paid this amount. If I didn't I'd definitely be looking for a different one. And I purchased it on sale too. Sad.

Great product, not sure if i'd buy again
I was really excited for this product but i was a tad disappointed. It does really well picking up cat litter and dog hair! I also love how lightweight it is and super easy to use. My concern is the quality of the product material and design for the money. You cannot store the vacuum in "ready to use" positioning because it's too heavy with the battery and the cup at the top. You have to take the top off each time you're done using it and slip it into the bottom- but it doesn't click in place which lacks stability and security. i dropped the top piece from 3in above the ground and the piece around the power button broke bc the plastic used wasn't durable. for best user design, the top piece should lock into place on the bottom so the handle can still be used for carrying the vacuum around. while i love this vacuum and it meets our needs, i wouldn't buy this product again nor would i spend more than $150 on it.

Easy on back !!
It is so nice not to be fighting with an attached cord when you are cleaning. This vacuum has great suction and lasts 40 min on lower setting and about 35 min using both settings. Love it 😊 I do all wood floors on low and rugs too and then go back over rugs on high and I have enough time to do all in a 1350 sq ft apt.I have bad Arthritis and back and the flexible wand is a life saver as you don't have to bend down to do under furniture 👍 I have always had Dysons but this gets along the edge of woodwork better than any of Dysons and no cord is awesome.😊 I would highly recommend this vacuum as I love ,love love it !!😊

Exactly what I ordered.
The only bad point, from a customer point of view. The charger, did not come with an Australian power point connection. Had to go to Coles am buy a travel power point connection.

So convenient!
Love this vacuum. Comes with 2 batteries so you are always ready to use. The folding handle for storage is awesome. This vacuum takes up hardly any space when stored. Good suction power when used on the first 2 levels…..great suction on the third level. Bending the handle to go under furniture is so unique and convenient. Easy and quick to empty the canister. Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre! I got it on sale so it was a great purchase. 3rd vacuum I’ve purchased in the last year and this one’s a keeper!

Very good suction
Great vacuum, picks up quite well. I could not believe how much stuff it picked up. The battery is great and lasts quite awhile. Easy to store, just remove the power head and attach it to the side of the pipe. Easy to clean, just pop open the lid and dispose of it.

Shark Rocket Powerfin Cordless Vacuum
I love this. Perfect for my one bedroom highrise condo. I am replacing my canister which is 12 years old (and still working!). This upright goes from floor to shag carpet! Powerful and easy to use. Just plug the power cord into the battery. Fully powered it goes for 50 minutes. My son and daughter both have the more expensive uprights but they can’t do shag carpets. I highly recommend this brand and model for efficacy and value.
