Absolutely necessary!
Since picking up Root early last year it has quickly become my favourite game and this expansion only enhances that experience. The corvids are such a great faction for newer players as they’re pretty easy to pick up and learn, meaning you can get those reluctant family members to the table. The Dutchy provide a good learning curve as one of the heavier factions (looking at you keepers) and make repeat plays a great time for larger groups. 100% recommend!

I bought this for my boyfriend as we play Root together and we've enjoyed the expansion so much :) adds just that little bit extra to your game!

Leider nur in Englisch zu erhalten, aber kein Problem in meiner Spielegruppe. Besonders interessant sind die verschiedenen Fraktionen, wie sie Siegpunkte erhalten und dass es dennoch ziemlich ausbalanziert ist. Nicht zu empfehlen für Kinder, das lustige Design täuscht, die Regeln sind zwar gut erklärt (und das in 2 verschieden ausgeführten Regelbüchern) sind aber recht komplex.

Bonne extension, avec 2 nouvelles factions et un double plateau de jeu (lac/montagnes). Attention, l'extension est en anglais, mais si on a quelques notions d'anglais et qu'on connait déjà le principe du jeu ce n'est pas un problème.
