Great for your Mom!
I have a few decent higher end kitchen knives. This is not one of them as I dont own the knife myself I bought two as gifts.. But this is a OK knife with not so bad handle grip and weight. I got it for my mother who loves to cook and is a professional caterer and treats her knives horribly. All my life she's had dull kitchen knives. I am decent at sharpening knives and I refuse to sharpen hers as she is the kind of person who would cut a tomato on a glass plate with a chef knife.Or put her chef knives in the dishwasher (if you do this stop it!). But if that describes you cooking habits this is the knife for you. It will basically always have a functional edge due to its serration design. They are short and shallow so you can still get decent slice cut. The Hallow grind is OK and the blade stock is thicker than other knives in this price range I have sean. Its full tang and honestly a great knife for someone who just wants a knife to be pretty sharp and never worry about sharpening it.

Quality / Price Ratio = Excellent
After moving into college without any cooking or baking supplies, I needed to purchase a knife. Honestly, I purchased this knife instead of a smaller knife mainly because it looked murderous. Beyond that though, it works extremely well. I realize that it will not be as smooth as a high-end knife, but for the price, I couldn't imagine getting a better blade. I use this knife to slice fruit, cut boneless meats, and scare the girls in my dorm. Also, as an eversharp knife, it is even more suitable for a student like me because I won't need to worry about sharpening it. Even if it does get dull, I wouldn't mind paying the low price for another one of these knives.

Good value but not the very best.
I purchased a folding cutting board which came with knife to cut up fruit when I am traveling. The quality of the cutting board was good but the knife was not, so I purchased this knife to replace it. It also has almost the same shape as the other knife and fit into the pocket of the folding cutting board with minimal adjustment. This is a low cost, reasonably sharp knife which will keep its sharpness for a long time and is more than adequate for cutting apples and watermelon.

you not only risk squishing your nice tomatoes and other softer food items
Eversharp series of knives are (to me) a gimmick and vastly inferior to their non-eversharp Henckel counterparts. I ordered this accidentally and didn't realize until getting it. I had 2 other eversharp Henckels and gave them away after just a few uses as I will this one. They have a thicker serrated-eske edge that adds to the knive's durability, which I can't argue, but it vastly degrades the effectiveness of having a decent sharp knife. It tends to tear food more than slice and takes far more down force (if you will) to cut through a food item than my 10 year old non-eversharp 8" Henckel chefs knife I was looking to replace. Since the eversharp requires more down force, you not only risk squishing your nice tomatoes and other softer food items, but they are less safe to use. Just like a knife with a dull blade, these require more effort to cut with making them more dangerous to use. I would highly suggest skipping this and get the non-eversharp version, same price and its much better... slices meat and veggies with far less effort. My non-serrated Henckel 8" chef knife is almost 10 years old and I'm only now looking to replace it... with good care, even these cheapos will last and are plenty decent for most people. I still say don't buy this series tho, the one you really want is the non-eversharp... J.A. Henckels International Fine Edge Pro 8-Inch Stainless-Steel Chef Knife

Good everyday utility knife
Good everyday knife, a beast on tomatoes and carrots and chickens. I've tired of having to sharpen my "good" knives every single time I need to use them; this is a very useful substitute until I figure out a better solution

These knives are awesome. I've had my set for years
These knives are awesome. I've had my set for years, and have used them really hard. They are still sharp as a razor. I loved them so much, I bought a set for my elderly parents. The price is very reasonable for what you get. If you don't want to ever bother with sharpening knives again, buy these. Even if you like sharpening expensive knives, buy these because they will cut better than your high priced ones anyway.

Great value, work like a nicely weighted sharp knife (duh).
Nice weight and balance, so much better than typical cheap serrated knife. Nice handle, not one piece molded plastic. How are people bending this knife, it is has thick stiff blade. No, it’s not like their other knives, look at the Price!!! But I don’t have to sharpen it. I now have an assortment of nice serrated knives, my three go-to knives. Pleasantly surprised by overall quality.

Not so great
This is the second different knife I've purchased to replace a dull one by the same maker but the one I'm replacing was without the eversharp edge so I thought I'd try this one in hopes it wouldn't dull as fast. This eversharp knife is good for general purpose chopping but not much else, as it has a very "sticky" edge that grabs on to things like tomato skins and I'd imagine any vegetable surface and so cannot be used in delicate situations such as slicing vegetables without a good deal of extra effort and care.
