Versatile unit, powerful
So far, it is as good as my stand mixer, which has lasted since 1992 and still going strong! Time will tell if the motor can go that long, but for now.... it is great that it came with 2 sizes of bowls so it does a great job with larger or smaller jobs. It is a bit messy when shredding, as some of the vegetable gets wedged in the blade / plate assembly, but I haven't met a processor that doesn't do that at least a little. Does a great job with general processing. Really like that it doesn't do the slicing or shredding into a separate bowl like my old one, because invariably some would miss, plus this way I can shred a veggie, then add ingredients to the same bowl and process.

easy to use
The two cups in one, one small and the other large. The nine cup is very nice and you can do alot with it, the smaller cup that fits inside the larger is nice for smaller grinding items. the only thing I donot like is the buttons, hard to push. the other thing I like is the slider for the slicer. its a great kitchen all around machne

Happy With My Purchase
I purchased this years ago and forgot to write a review. My mixer is still going strong. I use it at least once a week. Its very durable and makes my life in the kitchen easier. I use for everything from making biscuts to making soups/stews.

More convenient than the larger models
I brought this food processor to replace an old 13 cup KitchenAid food processor. That one was a behemoth that weighed a ton, took up a lot of counter space, and ended up relegated to another room and never used. The first thing I noticed with the 9 cup was the weight of the machine. it is incredibly lighter than the old one, which makes it really easy to move around. It also has a lot smaller footprint on the counter, so I actually have room to leave it out and use it on a regular basis. That alone was worth buying this one.I have not used the slicing blade yet, with the adjustable size, but I've used both sides of the shredding blade and the regular sharp blade and they work very well. There was a bit of a learning curve in figuring out how to close the lid so that the safety would allow you to actually start it. I initially thought it was defective but I kept trying and finally figured it out, which now helps me to get it right the first time when I close it since then. The drawback to the light weight of the machine is that when you are processing something on high, sometimes the machine starts to vibrate and "walk" along the counter, which risks it falling off. So you need to sometimes hold it and pay attention carefully. Another drawback, and the main reason this got four stars instead of 5, is that when I use the shredding disc, a lot of the shredded food gets caught in the lip of the lid and it's a bit of a pain to clean it out. And there always seems to be some pieces of what you were shredding that doesn't make it through the shredder.Another drawback is that they do not make a holder for the extra blades to be stored. KitchenAid sells one for the larger size, but reviews said that these blades are shaped differently so they do not fit. So it was a little hard to figure out what to do with them when I'm not using them. I do wish they made some sort of safe storage container for the accessories when not in use.Despite those drawbacks, I do recommend it. The fact that it's easy to use and doesn't take up a tremendous amount of room (or easily moved if necessary) makes it something that I will use much more often. In the month I've owned it I've used it several times already, which is much more than I ever used the other one.

Nice
Very quiet and light weight. Make sure the bowls are all locked in place and the discs pushed down plus the large piece on top is inserted unless it won’t start! Only problem is that it won’t accept the older model parmason grater that I spent $25.00 on and the one that comes with it is not the same. That is very disappointing.Too bad there isn’t an adaptor.

Love My Processor
I had a KitchenAid Processor for over 20 years and when it finally died I got this one and I love it. It's easy to use, light weight (my old one was very heavy) and looks nice on my counter. I recommend this product because it has always been very reliable and well worth the price.

In the middle of making potato pancakes
Update: Today after 4 years of regret, my Cuisinart 11 cup arrived to replace this thing. I was never happy with it (unlike my stand mixer which is fantastic and older than some who will read this). It has so many design flaws, like carrots getting stuck in the cover when I try to shred them. Some parts are impossible/inaccessible to clean. The pulse button finally gave up. Seriously? 4 years? I had my last Cuisinart for 20 years. Think carefully about this purchase.Original review: I had to come here and say what a desperately, desperate piece of crap this is and that every time I touch it, I regret throwing away my old Cuisinart. The minibowl is useless, doesn't fit and the top doesn't seat properly with it in. You cannot process a small amount of anything in either the large or smaller bowl to the puree stage. I could in the Cuisinart. The shredder disk is inconsistent and I wind up with huge pieces of carrot lodged between the lid and the bowl. This is difficult to clean well. There are lots of nooks and crannies for food to get lodged in and forget flour. There's an area with flour no human can reach to clean. I've been using food processors for decades so I think I have some familiarity with how they should work. If I could give it no stars I would have.Update: Here we are a little over 2 years later and I was just making sweet dough and the thing died. I moved the dough to my Kitchenaid stand mixer which I bought almost 40 years ago. Apparently they knew how to build things to last then.

Great kitchen tool !! Does everything !!
Great kitchen tool !!Does everything !!The processor was delivered on the day promised, was packed very well (double corrugated) and I felt very good about what I paid.unit was complete no missing parts. instructions on use are just okay, but the processor works like a charm !!We have had smaller processors from a different manufacturer before and although they worked well, there is no comparison to the KitchenAid.The only problem is now my wife wants the toaster, blender and any other device replaced with KitchenAid !!
