Best gluten-free substitute for bread ! ! ! And worth every penny!
I am so happy that Amazon got these back in so I could order my second case. I don't eat wheat, it packs the pounds on me around my middle. Most breads have wheat or if they are gluten free, they cost way too much.I have eaten all kinds of rice cakes. I have found that most will break apart if you're spreading a nut butter on them. Not these! Also there are generally 13 rice cakes in a pkg of round regular rice cakes... this package of rice cakes has 27 pieces in each bag. Also, it's much like consuming a slice of bread without the crusts and they are nice and thin so you don't eat too much of a good thing.Try these if you're dissatisfied with regular rice cakes or if you must have gluten free bread!! I don't believe you will be sorry and Amazon's price is so good and FREE shipping... though the box is sort of big, it's pretty light and stores easily away. I live alone and I'm on my next to last pkg from my first case and they are not at all stale. I stored them in my cool dark garage in their original cardboard box. Also they are made in Belgium if that helps anyone. The packaging is air tight and they come 12 pkgs in a box and are in the perfect sized box, and mine arrived without a sign of any damage and I have yet to find even a single cracked rice cake! They are rather neutral in their taste... I make a special butter spread that I like on them real well. You take equal parts of room temperature butter, olive oil and water and blend ingredients until smooth. You can refrigerate this, it sets up but doesn't get hard so it is always spreadable and tastes really good! I use organic butter, olive oil and filtered water, but you don't have. This spread is so good and I believe it's better for you than straight butter. Also, I only use one cake to make a single sided sandwich, as with any rice cake using two as you would two pieces of bread just doesn't seem to work as well. But a single sided sandwhich with these rice cakes is very enjoyable!Hope this helps you decide to try them. Everyone I've given some to, have had only good comments about them.

The absolute BEST crackers!
These are not the tasteless rice cakes you’ve tried. These are thin, crunchy, amazingly great flavor. They have corn and sesame and they are positively addicting. Yet they are relatively low calorie. I eat them plain, one after the other, but you might enjoy adding cheese or hummus. Yum!

Delicious!
I have a rather restricted diet and was craving for a way to make PB and honey in a sandwich without using bread. This is perfect. And they are very easy to take with me to work and school.

My favorite bread substitute!
- Basically, "Suzie's Whole Grain Thin Cakes, Puffed Brown Rice Crackers" are UNSALTED thin brown-rice cakes. But the operative word there is THIN. Maybe 1/4"/apx 6mm or a bit less. They also are less crumbly than "regular" rice cakes. And the brown rice gives them a bit more taste and 'substance'. I also think the size is perfect. - What I get is the ultra-plain, no salt, nothing-but-rice ones. They're a bit bland, I guess, for eating on their own ((to me, they taste a bit like plain pop-corn)), but I generally use them as a substitute for bread ((I don't have a gluten problem - I have an allergy problem)), so I've used them for everything from little "pseudo-Ruben" type things, to mini-pizzas, to tuna "sandwiches", to having them with peanut butter. Or just melting some cheddar on them. And so on. - And again, they seem to me to be a little more "dense" and less crumbly than regular rice cakes. So, they hold the toppings, and don't clash with anything. - As long as they keep selling them, I definitely will keep getting them, because they are, for me, the best "bread substitute" I've found.

Great Snack for the Health-conscious
I've tried to live without these and can't. OK, that's maybe over-selling them, but I've ordered them for years and can't seem to stop. One or two of these plus a macademia nut and a sip of coffee are a perfect little snack for me. If you're a former or would-be former smoker, they might make a good substitute for a smoke break. Wish they weren't so expensive, but all rice cakes are expensive, it seems. One advantage of these is.. they are neater--don't fall apart and make a big mess to the extent that some other rice cakes do. Light and crisp, but must be kept in an airtight container or they will absorb moisture and get tough on you.

LOVE THESE!
Rice cakes can be a bit chewy but I love that these are thin, crunchy and low calorie. We use them for snacks and an easy lunchtime treat with chicken salad, cheese, avo and tomato slices. I first tried a packet from Trader Joes and loved them but TJs have said that they are unable to get them again so I went onto Amazon and found these. They are great!!

These (brown rice) cakes are addictive!!! If you like salt, you probably won't like these as they are unsalted.
For those who like to have something to snack on but don't want extra salt, these are perfect! I used to eat the thicker kind of rice cakes, but they usually ended up crumbling and pieces would fall everywhere making a mess. These? They are (for me) the perfect size. Just thick enough and just wide enough to make eating easy without making a huge mess. Some people may put toppings on these, but other than eating with beef sticks, my husband and I love eating them just plain out of the package. It's a great snack for traveling! I usually put a package or two in the car for us when we get the munchies.Another tasty way to eat them is with a nitrate-free grass fed beef stick. The slight saltiness of the beef stick offsets the unsalted rice cakes. Delicious and perfect for that mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack!
