Here's the thing if you buy one of these.1) The battery may be dormant, best to charge using an external battery for an iPhone, or any USB battery2) In the settings for the built-in Mac/Win "SnapCam-LE" program, you can also change parameters, etc, no need for a smartphone3) Connecting to the App (SnapCam LE) can be a pain. Directions are NOT clear.Best to try a "reset" of the camera (hold power button down for 15 seconds. Then touch again for 1-2 seconds to turn on ----Turn on fully-charged SnapCam LE(note if the sound is set to “off” you won’t hear any beeps----Open "SnapCam LE" app on iPhone (may be similar for Android) NOT SnapCam+ or any other similar app.Connecting, should see a menu asking:Connection Start? OK CancelConnect OptionsTap “Connect Options”----Now at a screen with a “<” at top left, and “User Guide” at top rightBelow that are two large buttons on the right“Wake Up”“Reset”Tap “Wake Up”----You will see a list of every Bluetooth device nearbyYou should see “Snapcam-xxxx” (“xxxx” will be a bunch of letters/numbers)Tap “Snapcam-xxxx”You will see a message “Wi-Fi has been waken up. I have been searching for a compact wearable camera that is somewhat durable and very high quality. Ion manufactures their Superb Ion Air Pro 3 Wifi camera and while the use is totally different and it is a much more ruggedly designed camera one would expect the level of quality to be similar. After all this is not an inexpensive camera at $200 it is priced the same as the vastly superior GoPro Session 4. I have purchased both cameras to review and evaluate and there is no contest between them. Knowing the level of performance and quality that Ion has created with their Ion Air Pro series of cameras I would have expected something far more solidly built and functional especially for $200 and certainly for the same price as the GoPro Session 4. The Ion is very compact and can be worn inconspicuously compared to the Cube shaped GoPro Hero Session 4. The plastic used in the SnapCam LE seemed cheap and not up to the same quality standards as Ion's other products. I appreciate again that the uses are different however this is a consideration when purchasing a product. Ion could easily use a higher more solid grade of ABS plastic which would have given the device a richer tactile feel and the impression that it was "worth the money". However that is not the only consideration when buying a Wearable camera, function, ease of use, communication are all important functions. I was dissapointed by how different these aspects were compared to Ions other products. Their Ion Pro 2 is similar in price and Ion could easily have incorporated similar functionality, and far better communication into the SnapCam LE.Perhaps the unit that I received was not functioning as it should and I am more than willing to give this product another test. Unfortunately I don't want to spend $200 on this product, although it is far more compact than the GoPro Session, when I can buy a Session for the same price. If I could see that the functions of another unit were better and the price dropped even by $50 I would strongly consider purchasing the Snapcam LE for its specific use as a wearable camera.

I can't seem to get it to work because you have to go through 3 settings to find the one you want and you cannot tell if it's recording or not. I like the ones that you tap the front of way better I will not buy this version again it's worthless to me another 70 bucks down the drain

My only issue with the camera is the battery. I've had mine for less than a year and the battery is already dying. And I can't seem to find a place to buy one. I could replace it, if I could find one. Battery light starts to blink within a minute of full charge. Only works for about 20 minutes now before needing to be recharged. For this price, there needs to be a way to get a replacement battery.

If I could do less stars I would. This device is absolutely a cluster of bad user interface. I’ve watched videos, read. Reread. And this device will not function as promised. It has Wifi and Bluetooth. But it only uses WiFi to turn the WiFi on. Then you have to dedicate your WiFi connection to your device. Then guess what?!? It still doesn’t work. I’m going to figure out how to return this pos and get my money back.

Does not work! Never connects , charging cord was defective . Don’t see even a return link option.

The battery life is two hours at most. The app for smart phones is a joke. Check out the reviews for the snap cam le app. The user guide is written in broken English. People look at you weird with this thing clipped to your shirt. ENJOY!

Tried and tried to install and not successfulWanted this so much and it’s not wouth the price know how to return? And I hate to return stuf but this is a must
