Columbia Men's Passo Alto Ii Heat Pants Men's Pants

I bought the men's model because the women's is under the waist and that is too cold in the winter. I wear women's size 14 and I bought these size 34/32. They fit very well but I find the belt very uncomfortable. You cannot open it, so every time you have to go to the bathroom you must wriggle yourself out of the trousers+ belt. Quite annoying.But the most disappointing feature is that there isn't a separate lining in these trousers, a so called Omni heat lining. I have a pair of ski trousers with Omni heat lining and they are very warm. I use them on my bike here on Crete where I live in the winter. I wanted another pair of warm trousers and the description suggested that they had the same lining as the ski trousers. They do have Omni heat, but just on the back of the material, not a separate lining. These trousers are not warm at all, except if you take hikes in the mountains and produce your own heat. They do retain that. But for on my bike they are useless, very cold! For the rest they are nice trousers, good fit, very elastic. Just not what I bought them for, misled by the description.

These are undoubtedly very good trousers. The material is soft and high quality - in fact, they simply oozed quality. They were, however, far too small. I am a 28 inch waist and bought a 28 inch waist trouser, thinking they would fit perfectly, but I could not even get them over my thighs. The sizing is clearly way out. For this reason I have given them a four star rating. Shame.

I bought the same Columbia trousers eight years ago and still wear them. These new ones are made of inferior material (not as thick) and to a smaller size although I bought exactly the same size as my old ones. Hence, they are not as comfortable and I may have to return them. Beware!
