No more trying to unbend my finger after vacuuming! Just flick the lever - on, flick again - off, easy as can be. To read the enclosed instructions you need a microscope, and the pictures are no help, but it still took under five minutes to get this thing properly seated and operating. It takes a bit of maneuvering to install properly, but it's not very complicated. Make sure to not push the unit too far onto the vacuum as that will leave the unit always turned on. I cant talk to longevity, but the unit sufficiently grabs on so that it does not wobble or move. I'm very glad I purchased this. As other commenters have noted, Dyson should design their vacuums with a simple on/off switch. But, this unit is a cheap, easy and effective fix for that design flaw.

This Dyson vacuum stick accessory lets you choose between the original "on when held" trigger and a more conventional on/off toggle (you switch it on, it stays on until you switch it off). In addition to being helpful on larger vacuuming tasks, when used with some 3rd party accessories (we occasionally use a hose attachment with special purpose tools), it also lets you run the motor with both hands free for jobs like vacuuming ceiling fan blades (one hand to hold the fan blade steady and the other to hold the hose-extended tool so you don't have to hoist the whole motor up over your head).Really easy to install, and the compact design lets it fit on almost any Dyson stick vacuum (some other products only work on "straight line" Dyson sticks but won't fit in the more limited confines of the grips on "right angle" models). I did knock a couple stars off for "Thickness" - I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean, but it's worth mentioning that while access to the trigger is preserved, it's obviously through a much smaller opening, so if you've got chunky fingers that particular feature might not be useful to you. This might be unavoidable given the available space and the required mechanics, but if this could be made a little lower profile it would be more helpful to some potential users.I won't knock a star off for this, but I'd note for you southpaws that the switch is only operable from the left side anda lot more easily operated with the right thumb than the left index finger. I switch hands pretty regularly so noticed this right away. Looking at the design I think it would be easy enough to have a control lever on both sides, which would be a lot less bother than stocking righthand/lefthand models - we'll see if that shows up in a future version.Yes, it's $10 (as of this Mar2021 writing) for a little plastic doodad, but it's a really useful one and perfect for the purpose. If this one broke I'd buy another without hesitation.

I purchased this Dyson trigger lock accessory in August 2024 to reduce finger strain. It worked great at first, snapped on easily and did exactly what it was supposed to.Unfortunately, as of July 2025, the lock completely broke off during normal use. If you’re looking for a long-term solution, this might not be it. You're very likely to have to purchase another one eventually. The concept is great, but the durability just isn’t there.

Love everything about my Dyson, except needing to hold the button down. My finger would start to cramp during long vacuums. On day I decide to see if someone had solved this problem and came across this product.I didn’t attach with tape or glue but I’m not worried about it falling off and getting lost. At first it held in place really well on its own but with more use it has started to move a little. The lever works good but I find myself just pushing the piece towards or away from the button when I want to use it. That works good for me, it’s easy to move but still stays in place when I want to keep the button pressed.

My wrist was killing me from having to constantly hold down the trigger on my Dyson, and this little clamp is a total lifesaver! Super easy to attach and it holds the power button down without me having to grip it the whole time. Makes vacuuming so much easier and less painful. Comes with two in the pack, which is a nice bonus. Definitely worth it if your hand or wrist gets sore using the Dyson!

The concept is great. Execution needs refinementThe plastic piece is hard to get on.The placement of the product has a small margin of error. Meaning if you don't push it in far enough the lever won't hit the power button.Because it so hard to get on you end up pushing it in to far and it is very hard to get off or in the correct spotUltimately the product works (my first one broke) but it's not perfectProduct feels cheap
