Works great!!
Update 19 Aug 2014: I figured out why I could not connect with my VISTA computer, the TCP/IP network setting on my computer was on manual for some reason, as soon as I clicked "automatically detect" it connects fine. So definitely five stars for this product.I just received the unlocked Sierra Wireless 754S and it works great but not without some snags. I'll skip the story and tell you that I can not connect my Windows Vista computers to the 754S via wifi, my Vista computers will only connect via usb tether. My Windows 7 and 8 computers and my Kindle FIre connect to the 745S perfectly! I'm going to update the drivers on my Vista computers and fiddle around a bit more to see if I can get them to connect using wifi.I received this hotspot, charged the battery, read the instructions (two sets, one from ATT and one from ?) took the NET10 sim card out of my Android phone, put it in the hotspot and turned it on. I was on my VISTA computer and it would not connect to the 754S with wifi so I just connected them with the USB cable. This is where the fun begins because you have to jump back and forth between the two instruction sheets to see what will work for each step in the setup process. I typed att.elevate into my browser which brings up the configuration screen. Typing att.elevate is similar to typing 192.168.1.1, it's not a website it is a local configuration screen, so you are not logging into any AT&T website. Once in the configuration screen you need to type in the admin password (find it in the instructions) and then go to the advanced settings and input the APN setting so it can access your wireless network. The APN for NET10 is tfdata and that is it, not password or username or anything. Once I input the APN and restarted the 754S it found the network and it was 4G LTE! I spent the next hour trying to find out why I couldn't connect with wifi but the problem is my Windows Vista and NOT the 754S. Once I figured out the problem was MY computer I tried connecting five other devices at the same time. I connected four computers and my Kindle Fire to the 754S and they all accessed the internet with wifi. The connection slows with every additional device that connects but I will never have more than two connected on a regular basis. With one device connected and a 4G LTE signal the hotspot is fast, almost as fast as my home internet. While I had the hotspot connected via USB tether it automatically downloaded a firmware update which I took a gamble and installed. The firmware update did NOT lock the device, it is still unlocked and working fine.I give this item five stars because it works just as advertised. Just beware of poor setup instructions and my unit did not work with Windows Vista.I bought the unlocked 754S and the Wilson Sleek 4G booster to use while traveling and so far they both greatly exceed my expectations.

Better than the Mifi it replaced
I had a Mifi, it served the purpose for about a year then something happened not sure what but it would no longer take a charge, replaced the battery, still nothing. So I bought this as a replacement. The UI on on the MIFI was an led that blinked different colors depending on what it was supposed to be doing you needed a to know the crazy blinking light scheme or look it up everytime you tried to use it. Not so with this one the UI is simple to understand because of the small. The screen on the face of the unit, To me this is the big difference. I have not had it that long but so far so good. I pulled the ATT sim out of the Mifi, and put it in the elevate and it worked right off. Battery life is so, so. I would buy another. I think right know for the price it's the best option out there.

It works fine as router, but the unlocked option is pretty bad and the battery too
HelloPros:Very good router and 4g and hspa modemCons:the unlocked option does not works fine, cause if yo have to reset the hot spot it returns to be locked, so I recomend to buy the locked opion and you unlock it, due I had to reset the hot spot , and I had to pay again to unlock the device. When the hot spot is working it gets hot very fast and the battery loss its charge very fast too, so you have to keep the device charging all the time and you have to use a fan to cool it.The battery dies very fast even if the device is in standby mode.So it is your desition.Good luck..

Bought this well priced unit for the 3G/4G connectivity. ...
Bought this well priced unit for the 3G/4G connectivity. I didn't want to carry multiple wifi modems when I travel internationally. Just wanted to swap SIM cards.Unfortunately, don't know if I got a defective battery (supplied) or if there is a problem with the Sierra Wireless software. In use, battery life proved almost non-existent. After about 20 minutes it shows empty but if you pop the back cover, pull and replace the battery and reboot it shows almost full again (for another 10-20 minutes, then you have to go through the process again) Luckily I also carried my Huawei 3G unit which I eventually had to go back to. Still investigating this issue.

battery life is too short
Don'get me wrong this hotspot works amazing, but it has so many issues:-first you can't charge the device and tether at the same time-battery life is poor less than 3 hours for every charge that is totally unacceptable! And thats the main reason I gave this device 2 stars-it gets very hot when you download or upload large filesOverall I don't recommend this device, if you're looking for a good hotspot look for other brands or a newer version that performance better

- Great design (rugged likely)
- Great design (rugged likely)!- Very nice soft-touch on the back.- Good battery - 1800Mh is pretty cool.- Sound notifications!- Powerful settings interface via web browser.- The possibility to connect 2 (TWO) antennas!- Mute sounds side-button (like on iPhones)!- And many other functions will impress you.~ The bad of it, is that it doesn't showing on the LCD screen and also in web interface when the modem is in 3G band (as a 3G icon). So it shows only 4G (even if it's working on 3G), 4G LTE & EDGE icons (no 3G).
