This was a lot of fun to build.
I’ve only built the pirate ship, and Lego packed a lot of really nice details into this model. It was a quick and easy build that looks really good on the shelf but is definitely playable. My only “complaint” is purely technical - you can’t run a square-rigged ship directly downwind with both the maintops’l and foretops’l set - the maintops’l would block the wind, and the foretops’l would hang slack. You can brace about enough for both sails to catch wind, but not with this model.

Ahoy!
This set is great and you can’t beat the 3 in 1 options. There are cool details on the ship with a mermaid on the front and a Jolly Roger on the main sail. The structure of the ship is fragile until you connect the sections together. Younger kids may need help constructing this. I wish Lego would have kept the gold coins from the older sets. This has gold colored 1 point round pieces instead.

Satisfying build for children and adults
I’m a long time LEGO fan and this very satisfying build took me right back in time to my childhood. So far, I’m working on the body of the ship, and just the body alone is comprised of hundreds of bricks. No large pieces; which is such a huge plus in my opinion, because later on I might want to use the pieces to create another design of my own.I have had to really think through some of the more complex parts of the build; as well, so I think this LEGO model is a great project for sharpening problem solving skills for adults and children. I also think it will be a good project for parents and children to work on together.Over all, I gave this LEGO project a 5 star rating, for build satisfaction, for playability, and for imagination.

He loves his Leggos!!
My son's birthday was coming up and I got him another pirate ship. He's 40 and a big kid. He has all the pirate ships and islands collected and was tickled to play with this one. Small or older he loves his legos!!!!!!

My son is a HUGE fan of ships and Nautical stuff. He had this put together in one night, and it looks amazing. We'll be displaying this one!

Versatile
Ship can be rebuilt into several different ships from "alt build" instructions available at Rebrickable. This is true of most of LEGO's "3-in-1" sets. You have many options in addition to the three in the set. As is, it's an O.K. pirate ship for kids.

Better than we could have imagined!
I purchased this for my 12 year old son, who loves Legos. He built this set on his own, didn’t take too long and it turned out awesome! Very neat, lots of details and different parts of the set we didn’t know it had until it was built. Definitely one of our favorites sets of all time!
