This towel rack is exactly what I needed for my small bathroom without having to drill into the door. Fits nicely on the hinges. Keeps the towels at the perfect height for short me and tall husband. The bars swing mostly as a unit and not individually. I could not get the pin out of my hinges, so needed hubby help for that part. Otherwise, it is a one person install if you are able to keep the hinges aligned to put the pins back in. My rack is sturdy. It does swing when the door opens and closes, but I solved that problem by using a command hook to attach it to the door when not in use – see picture. We use oversized bath towels and I don’t want them to overlap while drying, so I attached the unused second bar from the top to the bathroom door. I do wish that the bars were an inch or two longer, but since the wet wash cloths will hang inside the shower, it is not a problem. Very happy with my Under $20 purchase. Sorry for the sideways pic. Tried rotating the original but still always comes out sideways. Any suggestions? **Update** Been hanging and used daily by adults for three years. Still love it!

I love this product. It perfectly solved a long standing problem: where to put my gym clothes after a workout so they could dry. For years I had piles scattered all over the bedroom floor. With this rack mounted behind the door I now have four separate hangers, which in addition to getting the clothes off the floor (and behind the door) provides a very convenient way to categorize them according to what they're used for. A couple of tips for installing it: 1) do not rely on the door hinge distance ranges and hanger dimensions quoted in the instructions. The best approach is to construct the entire hanger structure on the floor, making direct measurements of the hinge separations and corresponding hanger attachment points with a tape measure. 2) If you're installing it by yourself, as I did, it helps to temporarily duct tape the hanger sections together while it's assembled on the floor before attempting to install it since the sections come apart very easily and are hard to hold together as you install them. Overall a very useful product and very reasonably priced.

After reading all the reviews, I decided to pull the trigger on this product since I needed somewhere to put my "chair" clothes. It took a while to figure out workarounds for the issues other reviewers mentioned so I figured I'd save someone the headache with the modifications I used: SUPPLIES: washers (I purchased 2 washers per hinge whose edges slightly extended past the door hinge diameter, the included plastic supports are too flimsy), a couple extra screws for the steps below, 5/8" round wooden dowel approximately 60" long, painter's/masking tape 1. For those who commented on the screws not fitting, I solved this by screwing the included screws into each section COMPLETELY. After doing this a few times for each pole section, the screws fit well. This may have been due to the coat of paint which was likely applied after poles were manufactured. 2. I inserted a 5/8" wooden rod into the support pole prior to assembly. You can keep it as one long pole or cut into sections if you want each hanging bar to rotate separate from the others (I went with the sections). Make sure the dowel/rod sections end just above the attachment points for each pole section (i.e. my bottom dowel was 24" which overlapped with the pole section above). I used a ~60" wooden dowel (cut into 24" and two 18"), which ended in between the 2 insertion points for the top horizontal bar. 3. Once the dowel has been cut to your satisfaction, assemble the pole upright WITH the dowel(s) inside. Then flip it upside down and make sure the support poles sections are firmly inserted into the next. Tape the pole together at each section break while it is upside down with painter's tape, then flip it right side up. 4. Insert the horizontal bars into the pole. At this point you can either start screwing the screws in to hold the dowel in place OR you can roughly figure out how tall you want the rack to hang on the door and tape the hinge attachment in place. Once the screws are firmly seated into the dowel, you can remove the horizontal bars for easier installation. 5. If your door tends to close on its own (or you installed the rack without any of the above and realized it was too flimsy and kept rotating on its own), you can add a slight bend in the door hinge to fix this problem. Take the hinge outside on a firm surface (or use a piece of scrap wood underneath) and lightly hammer the hinge in the middle a few times until you can barely see a bend in the middle of the hinge. I had to do this to both hinges but it should work with just one. 6. Insert the door hinge and towel bar in the following order (from nearest to the hinge where it attaches to the door): washer, L-bracket, washer, then finally insert the door hinge. Hammer the door hinge into place. Reinsert the horizontal bars and enjoy your new towel rack. Hope this helps any future purchasers, I really liked the concept of this towel rack but it did need the mods to make it work for me. Now that I put in all the work, it was well worth the time and effort (even if it meant multiple trips to the hardware store).

Prior to this purchase, we had a free standing towel rack, and I hated it. I hated looking at it, I hated how much space it took up, and I hated trying to put towels on it and take them off without the others falling off. I just hated it. Now, this item is exactly what I needed, and I am happy! I don't have to look at it, it doesn't take up any floor space, and the towels are nice and organized. I love it! In addition, it was a breeze to assemble and install. It took about 15 minutes. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep their damp towels out of sight.

I have this identical item at my home. It's a nice polished chrome that matches my chrome bathroom fixtures. It's sturdy, strong, installs easily and holds full sized bath towels. I purchased this from Amazon, same brand, same description. In fact, the way I found this item to order a second one, was finding it in my past order history and clicking "order again". The description of this is "chrome". The first one I have behind my door is also listed as chrome. I ordered this second one for a bathroom in a vacation home that has very little wall space for towel bars. I was so disappointed when I opened this new one. The "chrome" as advertised is just flat grey painted metal. There are little balls on the end of each rod to prevent items from slipping off, and these balls are the only things that are shiny chrome, although one of these balls were chipped and it's clear that it's just a shiny coating and not true chrome. Everything else - - the vertical post and the towel bar arms - - are all just painted/coated a flat grey. * * see attached photos next to my chrome sink faucet and soap dispenser. I wouldn't even have been as disappointed if it were a true brushed chrome, but this grey paint is very cheap and tacky looking. I have no option but to use it since guests are arriving in two days and I need hanging options in that little bathroom. Thank goodness it goes behind the door so it's not so clearly visible, but it looks horrible and clashes with the other bathroom fixtures. The structure and sturdiness is the same as the one I have at home, so I am happy that the construction has not changed, but am very disappointed that the finish has changed and even more disappointed that the listing and description of the "chrome" finish is so deceptive.

Probably the best thing ever. Hangs up nicely behind the door. It can hold up to 4 towels. It can dry my clothes. It’s on the flimsy side but that’s okay.

I bought a similar product years ago from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Loved it. After 18 years in a steamy bathroom though, it was time to replace it because it got a bit rusty. Most brick-and-mortar stores are closing everywhere, so ordered this one from Amazon. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! The pieces fit together so loosely, they rattle and bang around, making it almost impossible to install. The metal is thin and light, not sturdy. The towel bars themselves aren't attached by screws, but rather slip in slots which are also too loose. When you hang a towel on a bar, it pulls away from the pole. Too wobbly for damp towels to hang. The angle braces to attach to door hinges are only attached to the pole by a single screw which was almost impossible to screw in because the screw holes in the pole are too small. You have to have a z-angle screw driver to get in there and tighten the screws after installation. I'm tempted to put my rusty one back up because this item is maddening and will put me in a bad mood every day while using. Ugh. I waited too long to install (hate taking doors off hinges, so I procrastinated), so now the item is no longer returnable. Avoid this product and most likely any others by this company. Cheaply made is a bad deal for everyone.

I have a tiny bathroom and the only place to put a towel bar is above an electric heater. As there is a mirror mounted on the door, I couldn't think of where to hang my towels. I saw something like this in a photograph once and started hit and miss looking for something like what I had seen. Needless to say, Amazon had it and for less than I was expecting to pay so< I ordered it. It arrived in a box that I thought was way too small, Once opened, I read the instructions - you can mount this on the door hinges, the door or the wall - and decided to mount it on the hinges. I popped the hinge pins out one at a time while measuring the hanger and using the pins to lock in the towel bar. Works great. No, it is not going to hold your 5 year old as they try to do chin-ups on it but, It will hold multiple wet towels with no problem. For the people that consider this difficult to install, they should read and understand the included instructions before attempting to install it or, just hire someone who will make them what they want.

Fantastic item, strong enough for 4 bath sheets. Easy to put up. Top quality and much better than an over the door hanger. I don’t have much room in the bathrooms for a new towel rail so thus is perfect.

Es muy buen accesorio para el baño, sin embargo no sé en que puertas pueda quedar, al menos no en puertas de altura normal 2.0 - 2.10 m, ya que por lo general los pernos van ubicados a 15 cm aprox. de cada extremo de la puerta y uno en el medio, y resulta que es imposible que ajusten los 3, de hecho solo ajustan los 2 primeros y para llegar al 3ro le falta al menos 20 cm de tubo, así que lo monté volando el ultimo y lo fijé con un tornillo. Tendría que ser una puerta con los pernos muy al medio 30-40cm después de cada extremo para que alcance, pero en una puerta normal no ajustan por nada. Por la calidad es buena y muy práctico, pero si les falto tubo y hacer las medidas estándar para la mayoría de puertas en norteamérica.

Perfect! We use a lot of towels and need to air them out while we wait for them to pile up enough to put in the wash. This was a good idea since we don't have a bunch of space, and don't want to lug the towels around all over the house. We installed it behind the bathroom door, and installation was straightforward. It looks nondescript, ie it blends in with our white bathroom and is not an eyesore, rather, it looks good. Bonus, once you hang towels on it and close the door, the rack moves somehow right between the wall and the door. This means that the towels aren't stuck close to the door or the wall, but have a good amount of space to air out. I don't know why or how this works, but yeah, its like it has a built-in motor that moves the rack to split the distance between the door and wall. Get this if you don't have a bunch of space, and need to air towels or clothes out before there is enough to put in the wash.

Nous sommes 4 à utiliser la même salle de bain et je manquais d'espace de mur pour installer des porte-serviettes standards. Ce porte-serviette qui s'accroche aux pentures de la porte nous a servi de façon exemplaire. Malheureusement, après 4 ans d'utilisation, les fentes d'insertion des pôles se sont évasés (tous en même temps!) et plus rien ne tient. On pourrait penser que 4 ans, c'est long, mais puisque nous en faisons une utilisation normale, je suis d'avis qu'il faudrait épaissir la paroi de la pôle verticale ou trouver un autre système d'attache plus robuste. Je recommande tout de même ce produit.
