Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce, 11 Ounce Can

I lived in Taiwan for 12 years. This sauce is the real deal! I love it and after ordering it several times from Amazon in the jar sizes I saw this 4 & 1/2 pound can. If you love this sauce this is the way to go. You can use it on just about anything. Spicy and garlicky. I poured into smaller containers and it does freeze well.

First off, the product weight is actually in the picture of the can, not the headline. I thought for the price for 11 ounces, it would be something like the crispy garlic chili oil that's so popular right now. This is not that. AND, it's actually 4 lbs, 11 ounces. The can is huge. I was taken aback when the box arrived and it said "HEAVY" on it in big letters. I thought "less than a pound is heavy?" What's inside is really the chili sauce/paste you find in restaurants. Not a lot of garlic flavor. However, for the price? It's a ton of reasonably good chili sauce that you can use and add more garlic to your dish, etc. I froze about half of it in smaller containers and it's supposed to stay fresh in the refrigerator for a month. I don't think we'll have much trouble eating half of it in a month.

I love the taste of this stuff... a bit spicy, but not too bad.. I bought this can back in September and split it with my roommate... I made my half into a bunch of sauces (general tso, szechuan, etc) then froze it... he put his half in a large mason jar in the fridge and it's still good, so this has a decent shelf life also

The product wasn't what I expected. I want to taste the spice of the pepper along with the garlic. Too salty!

awesome, and yes, it got a tiny bit of denting, due to its immense size and weight. Any one who is afraid of tiny dents in a can seriously shouldn't be buying heavy cans online, common sense, right?

Great value for a 5 pound can. It's my favorite hot sauce except it's too salty and not spicy enough.

Horribly packed. All three cans dented and one smashed.

Sauce is pretty much as expected taste-wise. It is good value for the price and very versatile.However, dilution is a must since it is very salty otherwise.
