Clean Machine

Machine arrived well packaged and in perfect order. Instructions were easy to follow and the unit starts and runs without issues and with plenty of power to get the job done. I replaced my old Ryobi 2800 with this Simpson CM 3400 model and so far I’m pleased.

Fired it up for the first time right when I received it today. I was surprised on how easy it was to start. I was used to pulling and pulling the starter cable to get my old one going. Very happy I made the decision to purchase this.

Purchased the SIMPSON Cleaning CM61083 Clean Machine 3400 PSI Gas Pressure Washer, 2.5 GPM, CRX Engine model. Box and packaging very good; although I noticed a little engine oil had stained the box. The understanding is that the power washer is not supposed to have any fuel or oil out of the box. However, there is a minute amount of oil in the chassis; likely for parts lubrication and testing. Unit came partially assembled. In order to mount the sprayer wand holder; needed to take off the front metal apron in order to slide the wand holder bolt through the handle bar. No big. The Quick Start/User Documentation was half a dozen loose papers with instructions in English, French, and Spanish. Appears to be a number of blank pages; page 10 of the English instructions is blank (missing specifications page). But you can interpret from the French and Spanish pages. In a nutshell, the instructions are sufficient for assembly and startup, but leave much to be desired with regard to power washer maintenance information. Best to YouTube the power washer to get tips on operation and maintenance; particularly regarding water pump preservation operation and unit winterizing/storage. Please see the before and after pic of my first job with the power washer. Together with the LidoDola 15 inch Surface Cleaner (also purchased on Amazon); made quick work with excellent results cleaning my driveway. The power washer ran strong and smooth. Very Satisfied. A disclaimer (see pic) came with the paperwork. It speaks to "...something different about your machine..." that "...look(s) different..." A bit cryptic. I believe this is in reference to a metal throttle which is shown on the display unit advertised on the Amazon page. The throttle is missing in the unit you actually get. So "something different" is probably actually something not provide; perhaps part of a variant product? The manufacturer can do a much better job explaining the difference. Just explain the reasoning upfront so customer's don't get the impression that there is some kind of bait and switch going on when you get your power washer. In any case, the power washer works just fine in spite of it being "different." I found a strange pin (see pic) loose and by itself at the bottom of the packaging box. I have no idea what it is. Doesn't appear to be part of the unit? Maybe it's to clean the nozzles, but no info provided to explain the use. Great product so far !!!

I have not started it yet. The quick start guide is for a number of different models so stuff marked important was not even on my pump (as I found out later). I called product support and they basically look at the available parts and have no idea what the machine looks like or where stuff is suppose to be. I asked how you adjust the water pressure and they did not know at all. I was quite disappointed. The engine has a hole where Honda engines typically have a plug for draining the oil. Product support could not tell me anything about this, and the plug was missing. I finally called a local pressure washer service company and they were very kind and told me which parts were not on my pump and that this oil drain hole on the engine was actually plugged and would not leak, it was just part of the casting. You can only adjust the water pressure by changing nozzles, there is no adjustment on the pump, itself. The hose and gun and wand are VERY CHEAP and will be a pain to use. Finally, I learned from the service person that Simpson licenses the ability to label the gas engine as a Honda engine, but Simpson makes the engine and it is not the same quality at all. Update after using it for a few hours. The product description that this is 3200 psi is misleading. With the fan shaped nozzles you always use, it is more like 2200 psi. It would not remove moss and some dirt from my driveway with the green nozzle. It would not power a 14" rotary surface washing attachment, not even close to enough pressure. I would return it but I have probably used it too much.

So far, so good. Received product, easy assembly, started right up and I believe it is going to do a good job. Time will tell.

Real power gets straight to business 💦💦

Overall I’m satisfied with the power washer, it preforms as expected and appears to be good quality. I wish a 25 degree nozzle or at least a place to store one was included, but the description and pictures clearly show that it is not so this wasn’t a surprise. The unit came mostly assembled only requiring the handle to be installed and the engine filled with the included oil. The CRX210 took the 16 oz bottle. However, the assembly documents were lackluster at best. For starts they are spread across two booklets and two pieces of paper, all of which had repeated and contradictory instructions. This created confusion, it would have been easier to just ignore the instructions and assemble the unit based on intuition. For example, the paper and instruction booklet say to prime the engine using the primer bulb, but there is no such primer bulb on the engine which the engine manual reaffirms. Bottom line, it’s a good pressure washer and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again. Just throw away the instructions off the bat.

Llegó en perfectas condiciones, muy fácil de poner a punto de funcionamiento. Excelente presión, limpieza profunda... Lo esperado... Hay que seguir las instrucciones de uso al pie de la letra y usar gafas de seguridad...
