Easy read with great insight
Casey has always been my favorite rider so I am a little bias with my review and going into it I figured I was going to eat it up. It is a great read and my one complaint would be, even though he does give a lot of otherwise unknown details regarding the inner workings of MotoGP and the mind set and emotions he and the riders go through, I thought it was a little light in some areas where readers could use a lot more explanation. His last ride for Ducati when he crashed out on the siting lap at Valencia, or the Leguna Seca battle with Rossi, or when Rossi took him out at Jerez; Casey touches on these but I was expecting quite a bit more from some of the more controversial high lights of his career. For better or worse the book feels like it was written at the 3rd grade level. It is a very easy read, which makes the book seem much shorter and lacking depth (which is only partially true). No offense to Casey, but you can tell he is a motorcycle racer first! He points this out in more than one instance in the book. The book has 2 different sections of quality color pictures, some of which I had never seen before, that really add to the book.Even as a huge fan of Casey's I got so much out of this book in terms of who he is and what makes him tick. Casey is one of the most (if not THE most) misunderstood riders MotoGP has seen and in his book you get a much better understanding of just who he is.I recommend this book for:Any fan of Casey'sAny fan of MotoGP or bike racing in generalAny young rider looking for inspirationAnd especially all the Stoner haters out there! I dare you to read this!

Excellent read!
Superb. Interesting accounts of the behind-the-scenes and was very informative. I didn't know much about Stoner personally so the book was very welcome. All MotoGP fans would enjoy this book.

Gotta Love Casey!
I am a Casey Stoner fan. I could watch him ride all day. I enjoyed reading his biography. I loved the pictures of him growing up and understanding more about the road to becoming a two-time World Champion before retiring at just age 27. This is a good beach or plane read, it's quick, light reading. If you are a Casey fan too, I would also recommend seeking out the Australian documentary "The Age of 27".

Fast book for a very fast man
The books is a clear, unvarnished story about how Casey managed to beat the odds to become arguably the fastest man on two wheels. It's not a literary masterwork, but if you love motorcycle racing it's very insightful into what really happens in MotoGP. If you've enjoyed Casey's career in MotoGP, you'll have an even greater sense of how much MotoGP has lost with Casey's departure.

Casey hasn't had an easy life, but he also hasn't allowed it to ...
I was initially surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this book; it's a real page turner and I devoured it in about 2 days. It offers fascinating insight into motogp and into many incidents from a viewpoint I've always wanted to hear from, Casey's. He's been criticized for his frank nature, but I've always appreciated that about him and this book offers a refreshing perspective. Casey hasn't had an easy life, but he also hasn't allowed it to stop him. He serves as a paragon for what you can achieve if you never give up. Motogp won't be the same without his amazing talent on two wheels.

Interesting for fans of the sport
A very good read. It is written from his experience, and has excerpts from people close to him. It was cool to get the direct insight from a very accomplished rider in Casey. Reads very quickly and is written very smoothly. Seems like a conversation more at times than a book. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the sport.

This will upset Valentino Rossi fans
A good insight into the mind and life of Casey Stoner. I find it hard to believe some of the Tyre suppliers and bike manufacturers could treat their riders so badly. I don't know whether it is sour grapes/spoilt brat on Casey's part if it is true what he says. With Casey's father being a bit of a trouble maker combined with Casey's troubled schooling, it seems to me he wants some one to blame for his own deficiencies. I would like to believe I am wrong in my assessment but I did follow his career and got the same impression from the media.

Good read, could have offered more information on retirement
This is quite an interesting read. Certainly offers a different perspective - from the rider's viewpoint, not from a media viewpoint. It perhaps ended a little abruptly and I am not sure it gave a really good explanation of why casey retired so soon. Otherwise, a good read.

Top-shelf biography from an athlete well beyond his age in maturity and intelligence
An excellent insight into what it takes to get to the top, as well as staying there and all the variables (and people) that need to work together for consistent success in the most exciting sport in the world.Yeah I'm a massive MotoGP and Casey Stoner fan, but in his book Stoner has impressed me further with his tenacity and commitment to improvement in all facets of his life (well, maybe excluding school). It's a story that sounds like it is destined for a big Disney Mighty Ducks style adaptation, with adversity coming for all angles and a protagonist who sees his potential but has to go through the fire to realise it.This is a must-read for all fans of MotoGP, motorsport and sports biographies. Biography buffs and those who just love a great true story should mark it down also. There's something for everyone in this book, although those who aren't as feverish in their appreciation of racing as myself may find some of the specific race-day details a little labourious. If you're a racing fan, the writing style and details will put you right into the paddock, grid, seat and into the mind of one of historys' truly exceptional sporting talents.I always knew Casey as a straight-shooter, but this book has given me an even deeper appreciation and respect for the man he is off the track. We should all strive for the personal honesty that he shows and integrity that is within him.Enough gushing - it really is an excellent biography, written clearly and concisely; I wish some other writers could employ this style rather than their books seeming like almanacs of everything I already knew, and being more frank and vulnerable with what was actually going through their minds and hearts at the time (positive and negative).
