The kids get to know her pet monkey and fruit-munching horse, have dealings with the equally bumbling pairs of police and prison escapees, and eat as many sweets and break as many rules as innocent young children can dream. The dubbing is still a bit awkward here, but young kids will barely notice and the leisurely pace of the adventures is a welcome change from the frenzy of today's videos. Kids Treat
This is the classic that my kids(and the parents)adored when they were little. The voice overs ae not perfect but no one noticed or if they did it did not detract from the fun. There may be more slik productions of Pippi out there, but this one in the one our family still watches and loves. Highly reccomended.

Excellent WHOLESOME entertainment for kids!
6 year old daughter absolutely LOVES these movies. We have an hour drive home after work every day and she falls asleep if she doesn't have a movie to watch. If she falls asleep on the drive, she won't go to bed.

Finally Pippi unbutchered!!
The Swedish original with subtitles as an option would be the ideal, but this is still great. Finally we can view part of the full TV episodes that they later slaughtered into two full lenght movies in the US. There were 13 30-minute episodes made in total, so we're talking 6 1/2 hrs of Pippi that was cut into two 1 1/2 hrs films!!! This DVD contains 6 episodes. Release the rest as well!!! Great buy and over three hours of FUN. Rejoice!!

Memories....but the voice-over isn't the same
I loved this show as a kid. Only it was the Pippi Longstocking Movie VHS which they just edited out the episode titles, stitched the rest together to make a "movie". The original dubbed version was what made it for me. Every character had their own unique voice with characteristics. I wasn't expecting on a different dubbing. Fortunately I can overlook it and remember how it was in my head. Pippi was supposed to be wild and boisterous sounding. The English accent dubbing makes her sound more proper than she was. I'm not a fan, but the shows are on point and some clips I've never seen before and weren't included in the original vhs when I was a kid. I must have watched that film 100 times over. This brings back many memories and I look forward to sharing it with my family now.No regrets on this purchase.

Just great!
This is what I watched when I was 6 and now my daughter gets crazy about it! Justice and kindness always wins here. And there is a charm of a simple life our hassled children no longer know. Plus digitally improved. Just great!

I loved Pippi as a kid and now my kids are enjoying them as well. Great Fun!

Not charming at all!
Since i know the german TV Series, which is nearly double as long as the movies and has a lot more atmosphere and shows more charactere of the three children, i was happy to find at least part of the series in English. But what a mess! The english dubbing is really bad. The Text was somehow adjusted to a more serious, say boring mode. Pippi is not charming at all in this version. For me a lot of the fun and wits is gone. I think the Englsih Movie Version is good and well dubbed, and the better choice. I hope one day the whole TV Series will be released in English.
