Looked alright for the price, but shipping damage killed it.
Build quality seemed fine, all the parts seemed to be there. While of course not comparable to the more expensive brands, it looked to be serviceable in our restaurant. However, the unit we received was damaged in shipping as the blade had come in contact with the blade guard, causing the rotating action to seize. Since we needed a meat slicer as soon as possible, we could not wait for a replacement and bought a more expensive Hobart meat slicer. Beware of shipping damage!

Goodbye deli hello to this new purchase
I have just now given the Presto PS 12 its first cleaning and use. I am 100% satisfied with the performance of this slicer, having only the intention of using it for deli-style meat. Since theconstruction is so solid do not expect a quick clean up, it is in fact a bit of a process butwho cares ? It produced uniform slices with a minimum use of strength, operates withlittle noise and certainly shows no sign of shifting when in use. So far a decent buy, I'mlooking forward to perfecting a home version of deli-style roast beef and pitying allthe poor chumps trying to get attention at the counter. Yes it seems to be madein China.
