Q: My yarn is tied together in sections. Is this normal?

Sometimes when color changes occur the ends of one color will be tied together. This is not what is supposed to happen however it does. You can either work over the knot if it small, but if it is not tied together well it can come apart. I usually cut the knot and then join the new end as I would a new skein of yarn. If there are a lot of knots I take note of it and don't buy it again. Also it sometimes works to request a refund or return from where you bought it if there a lot of ends tied together.

Q: How many cakes for a twin and also a queen size blanket? Single crochet stitch. Size 10 or 12 crochet hook

It takes about 3 cakes for a twin blanket and about 6 cakes for a queen blanket.

Q: I cant find the end to start with. Is it from the center or the outside?

I believe you can pull it either way, but I prefer the center pull. It just seems cleaner to me.
