Wide Angle Peephole Door Viewer Door Scope 2- 3/8" Silver ABS

I saw that my husband's store installed one of these and wanted one for our house too. We have an old tudor house which had a pretty big peephole to begin with, so installing this wasn't so bad. We just had to make the hole bigger. The scope is plastic but you can't really tell by just looking. We can stand several feet away and still able to see thru the scope pretty clearly. It's an excellent product except everything is flipped. Objects on the left appeared on the right side. So if you open the door after looking at the scope, you might get caught off guard, but not a big deal. My parents installed one as well and they enjoyed it as well.

Works great on standard door but not on thick door. Can see from 7 feet . It is a wonder for wheelchair.

I ordered this, thinking the wide screen would be nice, but I'll be returning it. It is not adjustable, and it sticks out the back of the door by more than an inch. I don't know why they made it that way, but it's not acceptable to me to have something poking out of the door that looks like it might have been glued on there. It's ridiculous. The optics are not all that great either. I'll need to look for something that sits flush with the door. I'm really glad we didn't cut the big hole in the door before checking it out to see how it would work. It would have destroyed our front door.

1st off, you need a truly large hole in your door to install this, so if it doesn't work for you and you return it, there will be too large of a hole to fill with a smaller peephole viewer.I find mine to be pretty useless. I can never tell what the person at my door really looks like. I mainly see a silhouette of them. It would probably be better if I had a light right above my door lighting their face from the front, but I don't have that option since I live in a condo complex and would not be able to get permission from the HOA.So now, I don't even look at it before I answer the door. I just open the door and hope for the best. I would like to remove it and put in something more useful but I am stuck with it now, unless I want to replace my door. Fortunately I am moving out soon and it will be the new owner's problem then. I will try something different at the new place; something easier to revert back from if I don't like it.

The former owner had one of these in the front door and because it uses a gigatic hole the only option was to get a like version to replace the one that had become chipped and dirty. The new one took about a minute to install and the field view is excellent and the clarity of the optics are very good givne the low investment.

I've installed many of these over the years and highly recommend them. This one has a plastic shell with a fair quality plastic lens. You may notice a little distortion but it is very acceptable. There are better ones out there with less distortion in the viewfinder, but they come at a much higher price. Installation is easy. Note that you'll need a 2 3/8 inch hole saw to install this item.

Product arrived in a very timely fashion. It is exactly as presented.Excellent quality. Works like a charm. I am a senior citizen with pooreye sight. With this I can see clearly who is at the door. It gives mea sense of security I haven't had in a while.Why did I wait solong to order it? Love it. I will definitely use this vendor again!
