743 Mold Jar (Weck 743)

I use this for starter. They are very easy to use. Highly recommended. You will see it recommended from many people who work with starter and that's because it is so nice to clean and it looks good and feels high quality. I have four and will probably get another two.

Love the Weck jars! No leaks due to the rubber seal. I can microwave soup straight from the jar. The clips tighten the lid which is also glass. By far, dishwasher safe. I can use cold and hot items in the jar. Easy storage. Perfect jars for anything.

Excellent quality. Easy to clean, seal well and attractive. This size (WECK 743) is excellent for sourdough starter as recommended in, “The Perfect Loaf” cookbook (which we also recommend).

I LOVEEEE my Weck jars, perfect for sourdough started. The lid quality is really good haven’t had any issues with them and it seems to be leak proof. It is dishwasher safe and is very easy to clean. Fits a lot of stuff in it, it is fairly roomy for whatever you’re needing it for! I also like the overall look of them. I would say if you need a good jar to store anything but the Weck jars. I am planning to get more due to how much I love them! You can stack them but I keep my lid loose so I don’t think you should unless your lid is fit tightly. if you’re thinking about it, just buy them!!

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do, but it’s quickly become one of my favorite baking tools. The one-handed design is incredibly convenient—especially when your other hand is covered in dough—and it gives you great control over how much flour or powdered sugar you’re using. The dusting is smooth and even, no clumps or heavy patches, which makes a noticeable difference when prepping surfaces or finishing pastries. The 304 stainless steel feels solid and well-made, not flimsy at all, and it’s easy to refill without making a mess. It’s one of those simple tools that really improves your workflow in the kitchen. If you bake regularly, this is absolutely worth having—and it also makes a great gift!

I love these jars so much! I mostly use them for my sourdough starter, but occasionally use them for other things as well. I love that you can choose to use the seal, or not. I seal the lids down for leftovers, but place the glass lid loosely on the jar for my starter. The best part about them for starter, is that the sides have no curve, so it’s very easy to scrape the inside of the jar, keeping them as clean as possible, and the mouth of the jar is wide, so it’s easy to feed your starter. These jars are so worth the price!

These jars were on the more expensive side, but I do really like the size of them. Just perfect size for sourdough starter. I also like that you don't have to use the glass lid if you don't want to. Washes up easily in the dishwasher (note- if using sourdough- make sure you thoroughly wipe out your jars before putting in sink or dishwasher to save your pipes from the cement of the dough!). Jars are great and I would recommend!

First sent of jars, one was broken. Replaced very fast. Great jars for my sourdough starter

Beautiful jars but received one of them smashed to smithereens and the other was fine.

Poor manufacturing quality, multiple long cracks and bubbles in glass, asymmetrical off-centred bottom

I bought these jars in February. One of them is broken already while I was discarding my sourdough starter with a spatula. Not happy at all as I thought they would last longer than that given the price of them.
