Dance effortlessly in our Canvas Dansneaker®. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Nice shoe
Very comfortable shoes. Great on wooden dance floors. Only complaint is the liner inside has come loose and rolls up under my arch. It can be painful to dance when stepping on the rolled section.

Perfect for a ballet teacher
My daughter wears a street shoe 9 and bought these shoes in a size 8.5. They fit perfectly. My daughter paid full price for a new pair of shoes and got a pair of used shoes, so be aware of that. If they had been new, they would have been beautiful, supportive, good quality, lightweight and perfect for a ballet teacher.

Might run small BUT...know your own needs.
Bottom line: sizing for dance shoes is very subjective & you should be aware of how YOU like your dance shoes to fit before trusting other reviews. I usually wear a 7.5 in street shoes, occasionally a 7 and usually a 7 fits but I like the 7.5 better. Ibought these shoes for irish dance & I ordered an 8 and they fit great. I have wide toe box, and a high arch, and this fits both nicely. I prefer a snug fit for my dance shoes (my irish dance shoes are 3.5 soft/ghillie & 4.5 hard/jig) and I think I could have gotten away with the 7.5 in these as well. If you want these to fit like your street shoes (room/not tight in the toe box)--go at least half size up but no more than a full size. If you like your dance shoes snug, you can order these true to size or at most a half size up. I notice a lot of these reviews seem to be from people with very wide feet/ankles, this is not the case for me. On my first use I find I like the balance of being able to turn & not sliding too much--seems others do not have this experience, I think it depends on what you want them for. If you want super grippy shoes, these are not it. The synthetic sole is somewhat firm & I think they need to be softer for grip. I can move easily without fear of falling. Cannot speak to durability yet.

Comfortable sole. Tongue too long!
I was looking for a dance shoe with cushion on the sole and these provide that. YAY! However…the tongue is so long that it constantly rubs the front of my leg. Whoever the designer is…PLEASE SHORTEN THE TONGUE AT LEAST HALF AN INCH. Then I could definitely give this shoe a 5 star rating.

Nice dance sneaker - true to size
This is just what I was looking for!. I wanted a shoe for jazz dance class that was a little more substantial and supportive than the Capezio slipper shoe. It is not slippery and I can make turns without my shoes getting stuck to the floor. The shoe fits true to size. I ordered two sizes, the size I normally wear and a larger size. My normal size is 8 1/2, and that size fits well. My foot is medium to narrow-medium width. I wear a thin sock with the shoe, and I still have room in the shoe.

Comfortable and flexible! So easy to move in
These are perfect not only for dancing but also just sheer comfort. I will buy another pair for walking and keep one for DANCE practicing

Not Quite Right
Sadly, Capezio has changed the fit and somewhat the design of this shoe. I used the prior one for years, and am very disappointed in this new one. I’ve switched to Fuego.
