Boon Fresh Baby Changing Station,Orange (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I'll be honest - I bought this changing station mainly for looks. Our nursery has an orange, grey and white color scheme and I was looking for something modern, sleek, and color coordinated - this hit all of my criteria!Now that it's seen some baby action, I can say that I'm very satisfied with my purchase for two main reasons: it really does look good and it's extremely easy to clean. Both the base and orange pad can be wiped down in seconds so I always feel like I have a sanitary surface. I also found that the orange pad could do some double-duty as a bath pad, which I appreciated, either on the station or next to the kitchen sink.There are some drawbacks to the changing station. First, I don't think the orange pad offers sufficient padding for the baby's head. You either have to be super careful in putting the baby down (and frankly most of these changing stations are at a weird angle so even if you are being careful it can still be tricky) or add a blanket to the pad. Second, while the changing pad has straps for securing it to a dresser, I would have liked additional straps to hold the baby. As is, the sides of the changing station are not very high and my infant was able to throw his leg over it in the first two weeks. A strap would just add a nice sense of security. I have not found that my baby has bruises, as another reviewer noted, from throwing around his legs and hitting the plastic, but it is definitely not a soft base.I would also point on that the hook for the mobile is not very high so whatever you hang has to be really small (maybe four inches or less) and that the slope of the changing station doesn't really add, as the product description suggests, comfort for the baby. I think you could really change the baby from either direction - the slope is not as distinct has it appears in photographs. Hence, if your baby pees while being changed, it will all flow to the middle:)Obviously, you should always keep your hands on a baby that is placed in a changing station so some of my criticisms can be alleviated by careful handling of the baby; I wanted to mention them because some parents might be more concerned about those safety features (or lack of) rather than the ease of cleaning and product design.

We bought this changing table before our son was born with the thought that being able to wipe the thing down easily would be more hygienic. Now that he has arrived, I really truly appreciate the non-absorbent, easily sanitized nature of this table. Maybe our son is the exception but it seems that whenever he is free of his diaper, he feels the need to let loose in other ways too. It has been very nice to be able to clean up the mess quickly and easily without having to do even more laundry than I already have. This table also does a great job of keeping such messes contained. So far, nothing has made it onto me, my husband or the dresser the changer sits on. My only complaint is the size of the unit. Admittedly, we have a very wiggly baby but it does seem like he may outgrow this changing station before he outgrows diapers. But time will tell on that. Otherwise, I am so pleased with this changer that I have already recommended it to other friends who are expecting.September 1/14: Nine months further on and I am still in love with this changing table. As my son has gotten older, the toy hook has become a saving grace for keeping him occupied while I change him. I continue appreciate how quick and easy it is to keep this table clean. I have no complaints at all about it and it was definitely worth the money. And for the record, my baby is even more wiggly than he used to be and still fits comfortably and easily on this table.

I bought this changing table before my baby was born. I was very excited about it because it's wipe-able, looks sleek, and has a toy hanger for distractions.I desperately wanted to love it, but in practice it was disappointing.When you have a newborn, their little arms and legs flail around violently. On this changing table, they bang into the plastic sides as you're trying to change the baby. I was constantly worried about little bruises on my baby's arms and ankles. Plus, the orange pad is not soft at all, so you have to be VERY careful about laying down a little newborn head on it.Even now that my baby is 3 months old, she still is constantly banging her little legs on the plastic. Though she's taking more of an interest in the toy hanger. Still, we find ourselves changing her on a blanket on the floor just as often as we use this pad because it seems so uncomfortable for her.What I wish I'd bought: a standard normal everyday changing pad and just left the cover off so it was wipe-able.

Looks good but worried about it scraping the top if the dresser and so glad I returned it bc now that baby is 6 months is a wiggler and I wouldn't have wanted that slant. Went with keekaro peanut (which we love) which was slightly more expensive but we got the orange color we wanted and it was super comfy and wipe clean like the boon.

Really disappointed that this item came in Orange, versus green. The description clearly says " , Green" which would indicate color and even the color on the box when I received it said "Green" for the color but someone crossed it off and wrote in Orange. Was excited to receive this but now I'm just disappointed and will be returning it.
