Jensen (AWM975) Black AM/FM/DVD Stereo

Purchased this to replace the original equipment Jensen AWM910 in my RV which still partially works but the control buttons don't all function properly and I can't set the clock. I have reset the system many times with no improvement. There also is a hum in the A speakers (indoors) when they are turned off and the B speakers (outdoors) are turned on.Per ASA support "The AWM975 uses the same 12-pin main wire harness as the AWM910. This will allow easy swap-out of the radios. There are additional wires on the AWM975 (A/V IN/OUT, additional speakers, etc.) but you do not have to use these if not needed for your application."I will update this review after I make the swap and let you know how the new unit performs.UPDATE 10/10/2015 -- Installation complete. I am a happy camper and bumped my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This unit is very much superior in sound and quality to the one I replaced and has a lot more functionality. However, like some other reviewers, I did have to enlarge the opening slightly since it is a little larger than the AWM910. Not a big deal, took about 30 minutes. Also note that the AWM975 only has a Motorola type radio antenna connector so you may need an adapter to connect your current antenna lead.UPDATE 11/1/2016 -- After one year I have added a separate DVD player in my RV because this one is CRAP. The smallest speck of dust or a scratch on the DVD causes the player to lock up with no recourse but to eject the disk and try to clean it. And since this unit NEVER remembers where it last stopped you have to start from the beginning and skip forward to where you left off (if you yourself remember exactly at what point that was). This is true even when you just press the stop button before your movie is finished. I believe virtually ALL modern DVD players made since the mid-2000's have had a playback memory feature. Keyword here is MODERN. As some other reviewers have noted, this device seems like it was designed with 90's technology. Other than the poor DVD player, the other functions have performed satisfactorily.

Well constructed with easy install. Directions and diagrams are accurate and helpful. Speaker separation works beautifully. DVD player works very well and the added benefit of hearing the movie or TV throughout our camper(or wherever we want it including just to our outside speakers) clearly and as loudly as we want it (rather than depending on the speakers of the TV) is awesome. Great product!

A bit disappointed. Bought this to replace the unit originally installed in my 5th wheel RV, which died after a little over 4 years. I've had this unit for a bit over two years and the DVD function has already started acting up. This sucks since the unit also controls all of my different speaker combos in the RV and replacing it and maintaining control of the different speaker functions would require serious re-wiring. I've since plugged in a cheesy little $30 Magnavox DVD player that is going on 10 years old to watch DVDs, it still works!

Awesome product but I had an issue with the DVD player after 90 days. Contacted ASA and they said that there is no warranty since I bought it from Amazon. They said I could send them the paperwork and they would see if their supervisor would accept the return. In the meantime Amazon said that would take care of it since ASA would not. Amazon also said they would give me free priority shipping.I do have to say that ASA tech support is great. I spoke with them and they told me how to reset the DVD player to factory setup and it works now so I no longer have to return it. I gave it a three star because of the no warranty issue otherwise I would give a 5 star rating for Amazon and ASA tech support.Follow up 1-19-2015Amazon replaced my unit with a new one but the new one is having the same issues. The DVD player locks up during movies and the aux AV input is not working. I just wrote Amazon about this before I generate a return for full refund. Don't waste your time on this product.Amazon took care of a full refund. Amazon is the best for customer support.
