Not Ft. Knox, but does it's job well!
This little safe is definitely NOT meant to secure the family fortune, or keep anything safe and secure, indefinitely. What it IS though, is a good little safe to keep some important stuff out of sight-out of mind from our little ones. If someone wanted to get into this box, and had a little time to do it, they would definitely be able to get in. I would imagine that I could cut open the piano hinge on the outside with my cordless grinder in 30 minutes or less. Oh, and it wouldn't be a "quiet" job to break into it either. Again, it is not a miniature Ft. Knox, but it does it's intended job well. Install was a breeze, and one thin I also liked was that while the sales picture makes it look like it only opens one way, you can actually flip over and have the door swing open the other way as well. I threw out the included shelf, as it is worthless for my needs and would only serve to get in the way of item retrieval. The "Stack-On" emblem that came with, can be snapped into position either way. Overall, I give it 5 stars, as it is excellent for what it is. If I were comparing it to another safe/lockbox of higher quality, with a fire rating, etc, then sure, I'd probably ding the rating down to a 3 or 4, but when judging this item, against itself, for how it was made, and what it was made for, this is a good little hideaway box.

Very good for the price
I installed one of these today and am very pleased with it. You cut a square hole in the wall and push it in. Two screws go into the studs from the inside. I stripped out one of the screws immediately, I would recommend you use better quality screws from the hardware store, perhaps even hex-head screws instead of Phillips. It comes with a small shelf. If you are putting full-sized handguns in it then you won't be able to use the shelf. Pocket revolvers can fit on the shelf and below but...I noticed the shelf rubs on the locking mechanism, making it slightly harder to open/close. For this reason I discarded the shelf completely. The box is light gray, if you leave off the company emblem and slap a warning label on it, it looks very much like a 'electrical' box. This metal box won't stop Super Thief, but will certainly keep out small children, randomly drunk relatives and teenaged burglars who might accept it as a power box at a glance without stopping to wonder why there is an electrical box there. If the small shelf had not rubbed on the locking mechanism, I would have rated it 5-star across the board.

Great Handgun/ Money Concelaer
We love this little safe. I bought one for the house we just moved out of, and installed it in the cleaning closet, which was right under our staircase. It is a perfect little safe to hide in the wall. It does require a key, and we kept that hidden. We also put this 'electrical panel' sticker on the front of it just to give it another level of discretion. I attached a picture of the sticker to this review. Not sure if it would ever help or not, but thoughtful nonetheless. We just bought another home, and I have purchased two of these and have installed them in a couple of closets. It truly is a great little safe to conceal a handgun, money, etc.

A nice locking wall security box
I don't think this qualifies as a safe but it is good for what it is. The locking mechanism is pretty heave duty and will not be easily defeated. the metal is pretty heavy gauged and will not be easily bent out of shape. Anything can be defeated with time and effort but this will stop most efforts to gain access. And depending on where you mount it a thief will not have easy access to the side or back. It is small enough to go behind a picture or mirror if you want. I took the shelf out as it is too low in the cabinet and just gets in the way of being able to get a normal sized gun in and out.Don't lose a key. A local locksmith did not have a blank to make a replacement. If you lose both it will cost you $10 and they will require the original receipt, a copy if an ID and a notarized signature.

Installation was fairly easy but I had to rotate it.
This is a nice small wall safe with a simple key entry. My wall studs were around 10" apart so I rotated it and had to drill in new mounting holes on what would have been the top and bottom. They key is on top and the door opens downwards now and the shelf wasn't needed. I would suggest you get better lag screws than the ones provided for a more secure installation into the wall studs.

Serves it's purpose.
As the item said it's a pistol cabinet, perfect for it's application, it can hide your gun out of reach of the children and if you can find a good location it can hide your valuables from thieves. As mentioned by other owners, don't use the screws, it's a piece of junk!!! I stripped mine halfway and had a hard time unscrewing it. The only thing I don't like but can live with it is that, you can't remove the key when in open position, I placed mine high enough so kids can't see and reach them but I want it open when I'm home for easy access on my pistol when I need it.

This is a great product line by Stack-On
This is a great product line by Stack-On! I've installed the IWC-11 and the IWC-55. The installation is very simple, and I think the instructions are easy to follow. We use the IWC-11 to store docs (e.g., passports), watches, etc. It's small and it would be difficult to store docs and a handgun. For this, I'd recommend the IWC-22 or IWC-55. Granted a stand-alone safe will provide MUCH better protection, but this a nice solution to keep valuables out of sight, and obviously, doesn't take up any room.

Solid and does its job
This isn't a safe, but a lock box. I have this set up in a wall with a painting on a hinge over it. A thief wouldn't be able to find it. Even if they did, it is solid metal. But like I said, it isn't a safe, so if they brought some basic power tools, they could get in quickly (with a lot of noise). Still sturdy, and safe. The point of this is to mount it in the wall, and you can then conceal it.My issue is that the keys are relatively big (like a car key). I already have enough stuff on my key chain. I wish I had bought one with a combination instead.Overall, worth it.

Good value for your money
Although this product is not fireproof as some more expensive units are it’s a solidly built and for the price paid it is great value. I would recommend this in wall safe.

It is well built and was easy to install
The cabinet met my expectations. It is well built and was easy to install. If you find the door loosely closed when in locked position, remove the nut that holds the steel cam, rotate the steel cam 180 degrees and re-tighten the nut. This solves the problem since one wing of the cam has a ridge that keeps the door tightly shut. Should you be using your cabinet for safe keeping the gun, the provided shelf is practically useless. Instead, you can perhaps use a ‘soft’ zip locked pouch to place your valuables.
