Gingher 45mm Rotary Cutter, Right Handed

The ONLY negative thing I can say is it will take some getting use to. If you are use to using other cutters like a Fiskars this one is different. This cutter needs to be held almost parallel to the cutting surface. I like to hold my Fiskars more up and down. I got this as a second, primary cutter so I could keep the pinking blade on my Fiskar all the time. Not good or bad just different. Now the build and feel is fantastic. Cuts very well. I love my Gingher scissors and this is of the same quality. Recommended.I do want to add that Gingher does seem to have blade issues. As others have said it tends to skip if not pressed hard. I'm going to replace it with a Fiskars as I know they work very well.This is confirmed. The original blade kept skipping and just did not cut right. Replaced it with a used Fiskars and it works great. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

These arrived quick during the holidays and first cut was amazing! Cut through the fabric smoothly. Tested on cotton and fleece. Cut through 3 thick fleece layers with ease. I have a pair of the large Gingher fabric scissors and knew I had to stick with the same brand and it did not disappoint. I am aware of the option that Olfa blades are interchangeable so I might use those as replacements when the times comes just to test out the difference. The handle itself feels steady, built well, and not heavy. These ones are for right hand use and the safety feature works great. Very happy with this investment purchase.

I love these so far. I had some cheap fabric store cutters before, and I can definitely see what the extra money gets you. My cheap ones were the kind that extended the blade beyond the guard when you used them, and the mechanism quickly wore down so that the blade would violently pop closed if I pressed down at all. On these, the guard draws back away from the blade, so they'll never develop that problem.These are lovely to hold and easy to maneuver. They cut first time, every time and despite being a newbie sewer, I'm getting much cleaner results even on multiple layers of fabric.

The Gingher 45mm Rotary Cutter, Right Handed that I have were super sharp right out of the container. The heavier weight makes it easier for me to cut cloth like butter. I was a little vary about ordering after some of the reviews and its costly price, but so far have been totally worth it. There has been no fading of the handles. If any of the problems occur, I plan to contact the manufacturer, but for now I am totally happy.

Great cutter! I love the ergonomic feel of the handle. The quick load feature for changing blades is awesome as well. It has a very professional feel. Two things that are a little strange. The blade is black, and the blade cover is silver. So when you have the blade protector engaged it actually makes you think the blade is exposed. Would have liked to see these colors reversed. Second issue is a slight overhang of the handle over the top side of the blade. You have to be slightly to the side of the knife to ensure you are following your cut line since you can't look straight down from the top and see the blade. I often cut along the side of a metal straight edge, and I think it would be difficult to do this with the right side of the blade due to the cutter's setup. Those were minor issues compared to the professional feel of this knife. A good weight in the hand and very easy to manipulate along cut lines. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love my Ginger rotary cutter, I think I have at least one of every brand on the market and this one is my favorite. It fits my hand perfectly. I've been using it at least five years, and have tried all brands of blades and they also work well in it. We use Quilter's Select where I work and I highly recommend them as well, also a high quality, easy to use cutter. We're using donated Fiskars and Olfas in our quilt room at church. They work okay, but, not not as well as Gingher and Quilter's Select.

I think I got an old item. It didn't work at all. The box was open. I was very disappointed.

I admit it.... I'm a Gingher fan. I have several Gingher Scissors in all shapes and sizes and love them. I finally broke down and bought this Gingher rotary cutter and the Gingher 36x24 mat. The first time I used it was nothing short of orgasmic. Silky Tencel Knits and slippery silks are a nightmare to cut with scissors, but it's a dream with this set up! I don't have an atelier, not even a big table to cut my fabrics on, so I always laid & cut on my carpeted bedroom floor. Now I just put the mat on the carpet and roll/cut away.... How did I live and sew this long without it ?!?
