Grout-Aide Grout & Tile Marker, Black (3 Pack) Restore Your Grout

We just replaced our countertops with tile & despite using black grout, it turned light grey (we mistakenly used white mortar - first timers at tile). It wasn't just grey all over, it was light grey, dark grey & black; the mortar bled up through the grout & where it was heavier, it was whiter, etc. So, we were pretty bummed. So I ordered these as a last resort & WOW, they made all the difference!! It was super easy to apply, I just wiped the access as I went along. It was SO easy that I decided to go ahead & do the 1"x1" (& some smaller) tile backsplash & turned it from a dark grey to a nearly black grout as well. It all turned out fantastic! The photos of the black tile show where I left some space the original color & some where I used the tile pen to show how well it worked, hopefully you can see that from the photos, it was very dramatic in person. So far, I have only used one pen for both the counters & the backsplash & there still is some ink left but I used both nibs that came with the pen.Time will tell how long it will last. I did seal the grout with the tile after I was done. But I still have 2 FULL pens so I'm not worried & I will just buy more. It only took me about an hour to do my entire counters (backsplash was longer), so I won't balk at doing it again! Super easy & super nice results!

Absolutely hated how gross and stained the grout got in an apartment that I rented, and I wasn’t about to change the grout for the owner. This works amazingly well. Someone even mentioned that it looked like the grout was black to begin with. If you’re really staring at it, you can tell that it’s not perfect, but with a casual glance makes all the difference in the world. You have to clean the grout really well and then draw this on. It’s pretty easy. Have a rag in your hand to go over the line that you just drew after a few seconds to clean it up off the tile. Even if you let it dry on the tile, it cleans up fine. I was worried that it would come off the first time we showered, but it stayed on, and stayed on during many subsequent showers. We will see about the durability in time, but right now I’m pretty happy with it.

My band new black grout looked grey. This worked like a charm making it look perfectly black. Easy to apply and easy to wipe up any little mistakes. Very happy, it was a lifesaver.

I initially purchased 1 pack of the 3 markers. I shook for the extended time and started in. The coverage was great but these were not designed for wide grout lines. My lines were very faded and I ended up ordering 2 more packs and then switched to a different product to complete my project. The pens did not go as far as they were said to.

I wanted black grout, this was the darkest I could find-and I looked everywhere. When dried, it was a charcoal color, not at all what I wantedAfter filing in with the black pen and sealing, this was the result. EXACTLY what I wanted. Will prob take me the rest of the year to finish, but I don't care. Everyone loves it.

I attempted to cover the grout in my apartment with this product. The initial coverage is very good and you are able to keep within the grout lines. The only issue and I think it's a big one is that it washes off when you clean the floor. The product is made of latex paint which doesn't stick to ceramic tile (easier to clean up), but even though my grout is not sealed, one swipe of a steam cleaner or wet rag and "whoosh" all your hard work wipes right up.

Easy to use and works well.
