Q: The picture shows this htv has a film, do I need to tear it off?

The film is what your design stays on to be ironed on the item. Cut the design with the shiny side down, be sure to mirror image before cutting. Then weed the HTV leaving only the design you want on the clear heat transfer paper. Place the image on the item you are ironing it on, then remove the heat transfer film.
