I have read many college admissions books. This book is by far the most comprehensive book I've read in terms of prepping for and completing the college application. The books provides concrete activities to help the student think about the complete picture that will be represented in the college application. This book walks the students through how to create meaningful activities in high school to building a balanced college list to filling out the college application. This is a must have for every high school student.

As a veteran College Counselor of 25 years, I am so glad to continue to learn new things to enhance my skill set and to continue to focus on best practices. Ethan's combination of wit, intelligence, writing style, and commitment to partnering with experts makes him an excellent source of college admissions information. Ethan CARES about students and recognizes the important role school counselors play in college selection and choice. Thank you for always being real and for sharing the multiple resources I use daily!

I am a first-generation immigrant parent from India. Naturally, my understanding of the college admission process is a little hazy.This book was an easy read and certainly worth the price just for the links to further information that you will need ( ex: Universities that do not need SAT Scores). I highly recommend this book just for that purpose.I also read lots of books. In my experience, any book that suggests doing some exercise ( what is the ten most things you value, etc) are generally skipped. My daughter is busy with her school studies and has not got her opinion when I wrote this review.

Ethan's "how-to" is a stand-out within the saturated college admissions process genre! What he doesn't know he collaborates expertly with others to suss on the details and rationale behind his recommendations. If you are looking for a do it all resource this book is well organized and it covers all the bases very well. This book is terrific for those in the know and those trying to get ready for the Olympian-sized tasks related to applying to college.

Ethan is highly regarded as an expert in the college admissions . His advice on essays is spot on. I’m am getting copies of this for some of my students who already accept his suggestions
