Wireless support is faulty at best
I purchased the Lexmark Z1480 on the premise that I was on the path to ridding my computer of a lot of unnecessary cables that only clutter up my desk and living room. With the affiance that wireless networking setup would be easy and prompt, I bought the printer and unpacked it.Simple enough. The setup process was long and tedious, much more so than the more complex Canon Pixma 9500, a much more beefy and technical printer. I was given the option to choose either full-USB support, or full-wireless support; no intermediate options were available. What that meant was, if I chose to go with the USB support, I would have no wireless interactive capabilities. If I chose to go with the wireless support, my USB port would be all but inactive. To have to choose on this is simply irresponsible and a product of poor planning. With USB support, the printer worked fine. But I could not get the printer to wirelessly print under the wireless support at all. Despite refreshing my drivers with the latest from Lexmark's web-site, for an operating system that it supports, the wireless mode did not work. At all.I've gone through this with Lexmark's technical support many times to no avail. I've read bulletin-board postings on this issue to no avail. At least it prints in USB mode. My complaint with this is that it feeds in the paper at a harsh and fast rate to the point that it frequently jams the printer. And the paper that does feed through, is spitted out of the other end with some ferocity that I have a mess of papers laying on the floor when it is done. The HP wireless printers are much simpler to install and more reliable.

Great Machine and easy to use when setting up. Works best using Windows XP
Installation was a bit tricky, but easy using Windows XP. Windows detects the drivers. To be on the safe side, I recommend users down load the software from the website, to ensure you have the latest. Problems occur when you attempt to install without first installing the software and firm ware that comes with the machinen or is downloadable from the manufacturer.Once set up this is a great product. I did not experiece any of the problems that the only other reviewer of this product experienced.

Continuous cost!
This printer is awful. It drinks ink so your constantly having to buy new ink cartridges. Th cartridges are hard to come buy unless you buy expensively and directly from Lexmark. I wouldnt recommend it at all!
