Perfect for the $. I'm sure the Nikon factory has a small edge, but for $32, it surpassed my expectations. Pleasantly surprised
Perfect for the $. I'm sure the nikon factory has a slight edge, but for $32, it completely met my expectations. I originally purchased this to help aim my Star Adventurer star tracker, but instantly found myself putting it on my camera as well. This really surprised me, as I never intended to use it on my camera. The 2x setting is also more useful than I expected, and it very clear. The included adaptors worked with my nikon and my wife's canon cameras. I was able to use one of the adaptors to make and very nice "homebrew" mount for my star tracker. Highly recommended IF you understand it's a $32 right angle veiwer, not an almost $200 nikon unit.

It's functional
It works as expected. I was able to adjust focus to accommendate wearing glasses. Optical quality is not great but does not affect picture quality (thus I gave 5 star to picture quality...). Since i don't have good eye sight, it's a non-issuefor me. Rubber cup for the eye piece does not fit well since i wear glasses. For the same reason, I am glad that I got the 2X version. Due to the ill fitting rubber cup and optical quality, anything more than 1X is not useful for me. 2X version provide the best value.

Good accessory
Reasonably priced angle finder. It fits my Nikon D5200 with no problem, no wobble or droop at all. Perfect for macro shots and makes it much easier to get approach to the subject close to the ground. The 2x magnification setting is also quite helpful for accurate focus. All in all a solid bit of kit.

not worth it.
diopter must be adjusted prior to manual focus. the diopter focus changes when switching between 1x and 2x. This means that what you see through the viewfinder doesn't match what hits the sensor, slows captures WAY down. 2 stars because shipping was fast. save your money and get a screen loupe.

Very easy to attach.
I am a big fan of this view finder for multiple reasons. I love shooting the stars at night now that i live in the mountains, but before i purchased the view finder, i always had cramps in my neck after about 20 minutes. Now i can shoot all night long without having to worry about any cramps or pains. I also love that it has a x2 option which really helps when I am trying to pin point a location in the sky. The optics are nice and it is very easy to attach.

Cheaper than the brand name, but beware of what it can not do
I didn't realize that it doesn't replace the old waist high finders of old. Yes, I have more flexibility, but not for using it like a periscope holding the camera over my head.

Very helpful in shooting
No more neck cramps thanks to this veiw finder. I love shooting nature but it hasn't always been the best for my back. Now I can shoot trees, flowers, leafs during the day and stars at night much more comfortably.

Works well on polar scope.
I used it as a modified polar scope attachment. Works well. Field of view is fine.
