A great upgrade to an older iMac
A great upgrade to an older iMac. Instead of prying open the case and removing the display, I just connected this drive via thunderbolt and boot directly from it. It's been working great and fast!

Thunderbolt port is type 2, not type 3, as I had thought.
The title reads "Thunderbolt", but upon receiving it, I have found that specifically, it is "Thunderbolt 2", as opposed to "Thunderbolt 3". This poses a problem for me because the port on my laptop is "Thunderbolt 3", & because these two ports are incompatible, I cannot use it as intended with my laptop.(Although there is a USB port in it too, one of the main reasons that I bought this was because of the Thunderbolt port. And because my USB ports are already taken, I was planning to use the spare Thunderbolt port for the LaCie.)I have written an email to the manufacturers, & if they help me, I will return to edit this post & increase the No. of stars. I hope they reply to me.

Found it fine and fast in use, as you would expect from a Thunderbolt drive.
Works very quickly, and once I discovered the USB cable hidden in the groove, that was a bit hard for me to get out, it was fine. (My problem not theirs, I guess!) The removable cover for the USB connector, makes it more bomb proof in use, if you replace it after taking out the lead.

Quality item at a competitive price
Remarkably quick delivery (standard 3 day arrived next day) This is quality SSD external dive which included both thunderbolt and USB3 cable. Only used as thunderbolt drive by me to carry my iTunes and i photo libraries and compliment the SSD on my MAC. Very competitive price.

Poor quality.
Two years use, clapped out. Tried DiskUtility, DiskWarrior, no help. Sort of works, but sort of isn't enough for an external you're using as a back-up! Poor quality.
