Irwin Tools 1948712 Performance Series Metric Nutdriver, 5mm x 3"

I am a bike assembler and i use a 10mm nut driver on every bike. This one is fantastic, great feel, performance and it fits well in my tool belt. Would recomend to anyone.

I bought this to change tuners on my guitars, works like a charm for 10mm machine heads.

These nut drivers are a good value for the price, but there are a couple drawbacks; the size stamped on the end and on the socket are a little small for someone with "old-age" vision; understandably it couldn't be much bigger on the socket, but on the handle end the printed socket size could be much bigger. Another issue is there is no visual cue between the SAE and metric nut drivers; their screwdrivers have a different color handle heads for Phillips vs. straight blade; no reason why the nut drivers couldn't do the same, or even make the yellow band a different color for SAE vs. metric.Some nice features: different textures on different parts of the handle to apply different amounts of torque depending on the task. There is also a hex-shaped portion of the shaft that you can slip on a wrench to get some more leverage for stubborn nuts. The shaft is hollow which is a must for nut drivers.

I like the feel of these nut drivers. The shafts have a hex shape formed into them to use a wrench to increase torque for loosening or tightening a fastener. The sockets are thin walled for close quarters and they are a real improvement over my old set. On the negative side, a 7mm nut driver looks virtually identical to a 6mm or 8mm nut driver and I have gotten very accustomed to the color coded handles on my old cheap plastic handle set. Irwin does provide the color code feature but it is only a small ring of color on the butt of the handle surrounding the size mark.

High quality set of tools. Nice diameter (not too small) and plenty of grip makes these a pleasure to work with. The size is stamped into the socket end and printed on the plastic and the end of the handle.I am happy with the tools and am more than happy to add these to my tool wall. That said, I would not have personally bought these as a set because frankly, I can never recall running across a 9mm or 11mm nut in my life. Still, a set with every size is better than some sets I've seen which skip the the most common sizes.

Ferramenta bem acabada. O cabo é excelente para segurar (diâmetro) e macio.

I like it. Does what it’s supposed to.But the handle is loose. I thought buying a brand name one it would be better. Should have just bought the $10 one I guess.
