This thing is plenty large enough, but has no real shape or fit to it. There is no elastic -- the ear loops pass through to a neck strap for holding the mask when it is off your face. Once it is put back on you have to adjust the tension on the ear loops by pulling on the neck strap. Kinda awkward.Also, with no form-fitting aluminum or steel strap over the nose the mask tends to leave a gap for air to get out and fog up glasses. Not to mention that escaping air completely negates the entire purpose of having a mask in the first place, doesn't it?

This seems like a mask for someone who really doesn't care about having a decent mask. Yes you can fit a filter in it if you can cram it through the tiny little opening. Yes it's sort of big but nowhere near as big in the picture so it doesn't actually cover my face well. Yes you can take the straps but the tightening doesn't work very well so it tends to slip off. There is no wire in the nose so it doesn't fit the top of your face or bridge of your nose well and air leaks all around it. So if you're looking for a piece of fabric to be loosely draped more or less in front of your face this might work. But as far as an extra large mask for someone with a larger face… Not even close.

The masks are cheap substitutes for what is advertised. The ear loops are a cheap black lace elastic, most uncomfortable to wear. The picture shows a single long strap which runs through loops above and below the ear on each side, which leaves the strap running behind the neck so that the masks can be lowered but left on when not in use. These masks are smaller than pictured (L/XL) and have tiny individual lace elastic ear loops which have no strap running around the neck, and there is no sewn in pocket for filters. Cheap substitutes for advertised item!

What I disliked about the mask Colette The Mask provides no seal at the nose so no wire and allows are to escape and get in through the nose area I also have a problem with the fastener allowing the face map to fall down off your face so you have to tighten the straps really tight to get any sort of seal to keep it in place. The only way to make any sort of seal is to pull the next up and pull it over your head and put a clip on the back of it to hold it in place the Slipknot design doesn't allow for any sort of seal unfortunately it needs some sort of Fastener to make it work. What I do like about the mask is the comfort of the material and if you have a big face it would it does cover quite a bit. Another negative involving the filters you need an extra large filter because there's so much material that your average PM 2.5 filter will not fully cover both your mouth and nose and there's a lot of room for it to move around I tried it with two filters but then that causes an improper fit all together this is why I only put two stores. With a few modifications I will have given it four to five stars. Hopefully the makers of this mask will make some modifications make possibly I don't know if there's a bigger filter to accommodate this. I'm going to keep the mask and try to put a nose piece in and use a strap to see if that will work. It is possible that it would work for something to put over a surgical mask that would be the only option that would be effective coverage according to CDC guidelines.

This is a nice mask. It’s the first extra large mask that not only fits my larger face. But it also works with my beard. (My beard is long). As well as the mask has a pocket for you to be able to insert a filter, like that you would use in some of the “gaiters” with a pocket. (The filter pocket is extra large, it’s a shame there aren’t extra large filters) I also like that it has a long loop that you can put behind your head (around your neck) so you can have it hanging down when not in use. But that way you don’t have to put it down. It’s right there when you need it.

These are soft and fit well. Really like the ear loops that have the lanyard so to let the mask hang around the neck when not wearing it. There is one slit on the inside so that you can slide in a filter layer, which I think is necessary. However since this is such a large mask having only one slit makes it difficult to insert a suitably sized filter and smooth it into place. I was able to make a slit on the other side in the inside layer only, back it with fusible interfacing, which I then zig-zagged into place. (See picture where purple pen cap shows new slit.) The fusible interfacing keeps the inner layer from curling whilst you are trying to sew it. I then created a casing sleeve on the outside of the mask made from matching seam binding. (See second photo). It would be definitely a 5 star if the masks came with these details already.Update: 23 May 2021. We order another package; this time in 3 colours blue, gray and black. Apparently some one was listening as a nose "wire" was insert into this latest package though it is not the best or most adaptable. There is still only ONE slit into which one could insert a filter. And as I mentioned in the original review, with such a large mask, a slit on both sides is really necessary. Thus I will have to add one to each of the new masks.

I will give the benefit of the doubt and update this review once the exchange is processed. But i received the incorrect model of mask. The cloth was scratchy, the neck band was not present, and construction was ok.Looking at customer images posted, it is obvious that the correct model does exist, I just didn't get it. I will chock it up to an honest mistake, but if they had a bad batch of mislabeled product, then others will have the same issue so I am posting this as an FYI.

Finally a large adjustable mask, very hard to find, great for big heads. Buying another for my husband.
