Widens the rear view, but...
I bought this item in an attempt to address the poor rearward vision when driving my 2011 Scion xB. The xB has some terrible blind spots caused by the combination of slim windows, long roof, large side view mirrors that are just below eye level for me, and thickish A and especially C roof pillars. I've been surprised more than once, despite turning my head to look, careful second looks, and round aftermarket convex mirrors stuck onto my side view mirrors. The 270mm size fits perfectly between my sun visors and does not affect their operation at all. I actually mounted the Broadway mirror upside down so that it ends up sitting a little higher on my OEM rear view mirror. View and performance of the mirror are not affected, although the Broadway logo is now upside down in the lower right hand corner of the mirror. BTW you -can- still use the day/night mechanical tilt feature on your OEM mirror, and the Broadway mirror will tilt up/down, however in the tilted position you will not see a rear view image in the Broadway mirror since it is a single-reflection device. Instead of headlights, you will see your roof headliner, or your back seat.So why don't I love it? Well because since this is a convex mirror, it provides a wider yet somewhat distorted rear view. By distorted I mean objects behind you really ARE closer than they appear. (Similar to your right side view mirror). It will take some getting used to. Also, the outward vision is wider than before, but the coverage is not that much greater (if at all) than that provided by my side view mirrors. The Broadway mirror is reassuring but does not provide a panoramic view like a Wink mirror does. However a Wink mirror has it's own compromises.I'll keep the Broadway mirror. It's an improvement, just not the quantum leap that I was hoping for.[update April 2014] After trying this product for a few months, I decided I'd rather have an undistorted view to the rear, so I replaced it with a 5-panel Wink mirror Rally 91515 Original Wink Spot Mirror . The Wink mirror does a much better job at wide rearward vision at the expense of interior volume. It depends on what compromises you are will to make: the Broadway expands rearward vision somewhat in a volume close to OEM but distorts the view, whereas the Wink dramatically expands rearward vision but takes up interior volume and sometimes blocks view of overhead traffic signals.

Why Aren't These Standard?
I've used these convex mirrors for several years. The added range of vision makes driving that much safer (fewer blind spots is a GOOD thing). If you use one for awhile and go back to the standard mirror, it will feel like you've put on blinders and you will not feel comfortable. I'll even take one on business travel to use in the rental car - just remember to take it with you when returning the car (lesson learned). This is my second purchase of this particular model (got another car). This size is only slightly larger than the existing mirror (which seems to be fairly standard - have used on 1988 Mazda 323, 1991 Protege, 2000 Outback, 2002 Tundra, 2003 Forester, and several newer rental cars over the years) which means it does not interfere with the visors. It is thin and unobtrusive when installed. It is easy to install and very secure. The mild tint of this particular model helps with headlight glare at night. The first clip-on convex mirror I ever bought was from Brookstone and the mounting mechanism got brittle and broke off after a couple years (was bulkier too). The Broadway ones I have are showing no sign of degradation even after years of use.

Was Skeptical but i love it now.
I Was scared to buy the product even though i had seen it in my cousins car. He owns a SUV and it looked awesome in his car, i was afraid the story wouldn't be the same for my BMW 328i. Stop reading reviews and buy it! The mirror is high quality and it looks beautiful. I can see one blind side and it gives me a better idea of whats surrounding me. I do wish i got the blue tinted version because my car has blue tinted side mirrors but ill deal. The package it comes in, is in Japanese but i mean do you really want to read all about it? its a rear view mirror. One of my concerns was that the mirror wouldn't fit my mirror because mines bulky but it snapped right on, the construction of the rear piece is simple but efficient and has kept its hold. I blared music with some decent bass in my car and it didn't vibrate too bad. I was still clearly able to see. As for the overall look of the product, you can clearly tell its an installed mirror looking at the back but never the less it is a nice piece and seems to add a luxury look to the car!

Great product, great quality
This review applies to all different sizes of this product - 240, 270 and 300mm wide. This is the rear view mirror I was looking for a long time. Very high quality mirror - no view distortions, sturdy design, easy to install and remove, sleek design. The pros - Improves tremendously your passive safety by giving you very wide angle view and minimizing the blind spots, being slightly convex it minimizes reflections from the headlights of the cars behind you, enables eye contact with children in the back seat without the need for inefficient additional mirrors. Con - you can't use the "flip" function (or lose the auto-dim function) of your OEM mirror at night - for me though this is far compensated by it's advantages. And don't worry about "objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" warning - all objects in the mirror appear and are viewed quite proportionally, so there is no danger of misjudging distances to other vehicles - all vehicles in Europe and the rest of the world use convex side mirrors not only on the passenger side, but on the drivers' as well.

Got the curved mirror instead
Got the curved vortex mirror instead of the flat. I was Disappointed and didn’t want to wait another month so I’m currently using the curved and have been for a few months, still works amazing! Just woulda loved the product I had order.
