I love my magical floating sketchbook.
This tablet is amazing. For anyone out there considering getting a tablet monitor, get this one. The Wacom Cintiq 13HD is $800, and this tablet is larger than it and just as good. The Cintiq 22HD is $1800 and only three inches larger. Do you really want to waste all that money?Pressure sensitivity is amazing on this tablet and just as good as any Wacom tablet. The pens do take one AAA battery but they last forever. I haven't had to change mine yet, and it's a cheapo battery. The display needs calibration out of the box but once calibrated, works beautifully and matches my monitor's color output. Along with Manga Studio this tablet has made even this very traditional-media artist excited about making digital art. It's just so easy, like using pen and paper. My MSP19U+ came with two drawing gloves (I recommend wearing one on your drawing hand, as it will help you not smudge the screen), two styluses (awesome!!) a whole bunch of replacement nibs and a multi-port hookup. The only drawback I can think is that setup is fairly involved. You have to uninstall all your Wacom drivers, and possibly any other sort of tablet input drivers that might have come with your OS. But once you get all the setup done it all works beautifully. Make sure to use the updated setup instructions and drivers found on the Panda City website and NOT the outdated disk.I DO urge you to get a monitor arm for this tablet. It is not a small tablet, you will not want to put it on your lap, and being hunched over at your desk using it will hurt your back and neck. I purchased a refurbished HP Monitor Arm (a clone of the Ergotron LX) for about $85 and ohhh boy. You can position the tablet in practically any conceivable way you want. It's not unlike having a hovering sketchbook that you do not have to hold up. It is magic. If money is an issue (which I assume it is since you're not looking at overpriced Wacoms) save up a bit longer so you can buy the monitor arm at the same time. It changes your experience just that much. There are a bunch of programmable hotkeys on the side of the monitor which are great and useful, although a little quirky. There is also a preset for one of the two buttons on the stylus to toggle from your current tool to eraser. I, probably like you, came from using an old Wacom and was used to flipping the pen around to erase. Pressing a button instead is surprisingly easy to get used to.Overall, I love my MSP19U+ tablet and would happily buy it all over again. Stick it to the man and don't waste your money on overpriced Wacom devices.

Fantastic piece of hardware but driver/software setup can be frustrating initially
After doing a lot of research online and pricing out digitizers, this one seemed like the no-brainer and it was the right decision. The price comparison versus Wacom gives this product a huge advantage in influencing a casual artist like me to buy the Yiynova. I was using a Wacom CTH 480 tablet before this so this is a big jump being able to look directly at what my hand is drawing now instead of looking away from the tablet at the monitor and relying on "muscle memory". Here is the breakdown of pros and cons that I've noticed with it so far after about 4-5 days use:On a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system-Pros:- 19 inch screen is bright, clear, has vibrant colors, and the perfect size for an artist.- 8 programmable hotkeys on the back, left side of the monitor (which I use frequently for 'undo', 'rotate', 'eye-dropper tool').- sturdy/adjustable stand that can go from nearly straight up and down to nearly flat on my desk.- VERY accurate brush strokes w/little to not even noticeable lag.- package came w/two monitor artist gloves that are made out of a sort of nylon which are handy for smooth movement across the monitor and to avoid smudges and smears. Cleans up easily w/some windex on a paper towel if you do get built up smears.- No scratches noticed at all after several hours of sketching on Manga Studio 5.Cons:- 8 hotkeys feel a little "heavy" like you have to put a bit of extra "umph" into pushing them for quick actions that you want.- Stylus is battery operated (single AAA battery) but from what I've heard it lasts for a VERY long time.- Software/driver CD that comes with it is obsolete and practically unusable. This part is my main gripe with the product where I can see a lot of buyers getting frustrated thinking they have a "broken" and unusable product; The manual that comes with it is only helpful in giving you the physical specifics of the monitor (locations of buttons, what certain lights mean, etc) and in no way explains anything about anticipated software problems or preparations you should make first before installing it. After I realized the software CD wasn't doing what it was supposed to, I made the mistake of going to Yiynova's website and downloading what I thought was the appropriate driver from there. It would seem to work for a few minutes in drawing and then the driver would just crash and pressure sensitivity was gone, hotkeys wouldn't work, etc. Additionally, I could not get the monitor to change to it's native 1440x900 resolution, other resolutions had a blurry text and the sharpness was lacking (I found this later to be a hardware issue on my end). After I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers 4-5 times with the same crashing results, I called Panda City's customer service line and got a greeting of "Hello?". It sounded like I accidentally dialed a personal phone number but the individual clarified this was the right number but that the customer service tech was "out" or unavailable. I explained my issue with the call-taker and left my email address w/him expecting some correspondence, it's been 5 days and I haven't heard back still. Other reviewers on here have said that the customer service/tech support is excellent so maybe this is a rarity but regardless, it was a bad first impression for customer service.I ended up solving my software issues on my own by going to Panda City's website instead of Yiynova's for driver/software download and after a couple installs and uninstalls I was able to get the driver to work just fine. I fixed my resolution issue and found it to be an SLI issue w/my dual video cards, make sure your SLI is ENABLED if you run dual video cards and this is your second monitor which the Yiynova is for me. I've read on multiple occasions about this product that it's critical that you uninstall all Wacom drivers before you install the Yiynova which I did but it would have been nice if the included manual explained this as well as explained that you need to get your software/drivers from Panda City's website and not the manufacturer's (Yiynova) website which I could see can become a common problem or error new users will run into, especially if you're in the U.S.Bottom line is; it's worth the purchase, you'll be more than happy once you have it up and running the way it's supposed to. I hope this reviews helps anyone that may run into some bumps in the road with it.

Great Alternative to Cintiq
First I have to say my experience with Panda City was fast, courteous, and hassel free. I emailed them to ask if they would have more MSP19U's in stock since Amazon said they were sold out. They replied quickly and even reserved one for me. They got a shipment in earlier than expected and sent my tablet out immediately. The MSP19U is amazing! It's lightweight, bright, super sensitive, and much cheaper than a Cintiq. The setup was fairly easy. The instructions are a little confusing but not a huge pain. I uninstalled my Wacom drivers, restarted my Mac and installed the Yiynova drivers. After adjusting the screen resolution I was ready to take it for a test run.Worked great with photoshop. Very smooth and sensitive and no weird jitters like some reviews have mentioned with the other model. Then it was on to Toon Boom. For some reason it was not working with Toon Boom, only little black dots showed up on the screen. I made sure the Wacom drivers were uninstalled and even downloaded the most recent drivers from yiynova.com but that didn't make a difference. I moved onto Toon Boom Animate 2 on the Windows side of my computer. No problems there, it worked great! Had to adjust the pressure sensitivity a couple times to get it just right but after that it was smooth sailing. Some people have mention the thick glass to be an issue, but I would have to disagree. The cursor is pretty spot on to my pen placement. The pen has a nice size and weight and good grip. However, it has no eraser and limited programable buttons but that wasn't an issue for me.I've used Cintiqs before and this tablet is a great cheaper alternative without sacrificing any quality. I'm glad there is another option for digital artists on a budget.
