Gorgeous looking katana, straight out of the box I was impressed with it. It came very well packaged. The handle had its own wrapping, the sheath had its own wrapping, and the blade was in its own wrapping inside the sheath, as well as the entire thing also was in its own wrapping 😂 Definitly a real sword with its weight and sharpness, tho I got it specifically for display and dont want to test its durability. The handle has a very nice grip and the entire thing was obviously made with care.

Let’s be real, this is a $120 katana. I don’t expect it to take any hard impacts, or to live up to the reputation of a genuine, handmade Japanese katana. However, this is my first katana (and certainly won’t be my last), and for this price point it’s very well made and very beautiful. I MEAN IT’S A GOLD KATANA! It really doesn’t get much cooler than that for a first katana. So far it’s survived slicing through the box it came in, and I don’t wanna take much farther than that to not ruin it. I will say it has some good weight and it’s well balanced (it’s balanced about 5.5 inches from the guard). Overall very happy with this purchase and it will make an excellent display piece.

I just did a review on a quality but simple and plain sword. This one is quite the opposite, not when it comes to quality as this is a quality sword. This is straight up flashy and it looks great. This is a show pony that is great for displaying. Blade is straight and sharp with no issues.

Beautiful blade and sheath. The only reason I reduced it by one star was because the katana flops around in the sheath, and has poor fitment. The blade did come sharp, but I can't say to the durability of the blade, but it does feel sturdy.

Sure, it's an inexpensive sword with a mono steel blade that's thru hardened but 1095 done right is formidable. Keep in mind, I saw a $3,000.00 traditionally made Katana go up against a thru-hardened blade on a $180.00 Katana and the thru hardened blade won hands down. Modern metals with proper heat treating can stand up too much abuse. My Cheness Tenchi (No Bo-hi) can chop wood all day long. All that being said, it's just too pretty to do much cutting other than pool noodles.
